Winter Yarn Hats 

These cute hats are perfect for a winter garland or decorative ornament! In the 
photos, I used red, green, and white yarn for Christmas colors, however you can use 
any colors you want! 
 
Supplies Needed​: 
❏ Toilet paper roll  
❏ Yarn 
❏ Book 
❏ Scissors 
❏ Tissue 
 
Steps (refer to picture instructions for reference)​: 
1. Cut your toilet paper roll in order to make a 1-1.5 inch ring. Set aside. 
2. Take your yarn and wrap it around the width of your book multiple times and 
then cut them off the main yarn spool. From here, cut the yarn off of the 
book. 
3. Next, take one strand of the yarn and tie it around the paper roll ring. Repeat 
this step until the entire paper roll ring is covered by the yarn ties. 
a. You may run out of your yarn strands as you do this step - that’s 
okay! Just repeat step 2 until you have enough! 
4. Once your ring is covered, invert the ties through the ring. 
5. Next, take one of your remaining yarn strands and cut it in half. Tie this half 
midway around the yarn strands you inverted through the ring. 
6. Cut the top of your strings in order to create a pom-pom look. 
7. Finally, take half of your tissue and stuff it into the bottom of the hat in order 
to create a fuller look. 
8. Complete!
