 Throughout the
history of human
civilization, it had
witnessed an
immense
development in
various fields of
varietal aspects. Out of these admiring innovations, chemical
engineering technology always plays a pivotal role in the
advancement of human race.
 Over a long stretch, this peculiar field of engineering had
undergone a drastic development which made it to be an
inseparable component in the ever wavering technology.
 The origin of chemical engineering routes its way back to
mid- 1800’s when the world’s first
chemical engineer George E. Davis
ingrained the first chemical
engineering course at the
University of Manchester in 1887.
From then to till date, chemical
engineers are paving way to sort
out efficient ways to convert the
 raw material economically into usable and advantageous
materials for further enhancing applications.
 The major chemical engineering inventions include potable
water, petrol (gasoline),
antibiotics, vaccines,
sterilized foods, fertilizers,
plastics etc. Out of these,
plastics play a cardinal lead
in various industrial sectors
making it to be one of the
most used materials in the
world. However, researchers are trying to formulate bio-
plastics, which would greatly reduce the ill-effects caused by
HDPE and LDPE polymer plastics in the environment.
 Chemical engineering
technology also dominates in
the energy sector which
primarily decides the
economic landscape of a
nation. By 2050, the world’s
human population to reach
9.8 billion, the entire humanity would face a severe energy
crisis which would solely be answered by chemical engineers
who are currently being employed in the process of finding
ways for the efficient usage of available non-renewable
energy resources and for the effective usage of abundant
renewable energy sources.
  The near future emphasizes
a promising scope for the
chemical engineering
technology as it is being
incorporated in each and
every industrial field. The
convergence of various fields of science namely physics,
chemistry, biotechnology and digital engineering along with
chemical technology renders an ancillary hand in stimulating
a solid platform for the growth of an economy.
 The overture of AI (Artificial Intelligence) in chemical
engineering, provides a greater room for the fluid flow
operations to take place without any time framework and
requires much lesser human effort for its round-the-clock
instrumentality.
 The evolution of chemical engineering technology will be on
its upswing until there exists a need and ever demanding
consumer market for its productive usage.
