Constitution
Constitution- set of principles and rules defining in broad outlines the government of an
organization. It is the basic huide of all its acts and any rule that conflicts with any
constitutional provisions is null and void.
Article I- includes the name of the organization and the location of its office or
headquarters
Article III- includes the officers of the organization, their term of office and the manner
of selecting them
Article IV- provides the governing board, powers and duties, manner of its constitution
and their term of office
Article V- includes the time of regular meetings and provides a method for calling the
special meetings
Article VI- provides the method by which the constitution be amended and the vote
required for such amendments
(If preamble omitted, the aims and purposes are stated in the first article; if a committee
is not desired, article IV may be disregarded)
Before a constitution is made effective, it must forst be adopted by the members of the
organization.
Amendments to the constitution are effective upon their adoption unless the motion to
adopt or some other previously approved motion specifies a different time for their
effectivity.
