Good Morning, Madison Families.

Last night, at the Addison Community Schools Board of Education meeting, several individuals
took over their zoom meeting call. During that time, these individuals made several threatening
statements. There were racially charged comments and threats to bomb various school
buildings throughout the county. One of these threats was made against the Madison School
District.

The Madison Township Police, Lenawee County Sheriff's department, and the FBI have been
working through the night to identify the individuals that took over the zoom call. While they are
confident that these were baseless threats made by students, a search of our building has been
completed by an explosive/bomb sniffing K-9 in the early hours this morning. Madison
Township police will also be sending additional patrol cars to the school building this morning.

Law enforcement is confident that they have taken all of the steps necessary to ensure that we
can safely open today. Typically schools may be closed for a day while a K9 is brought in to
search the building. We were fortunate enough that the K9 was in the area last night and able to
complete the building sweep in the early hours of the morning.

The safety of our students is the number one priority of the Madison School District. We take all
potential threats against our students very seriously. I am truly thankful that through the swift
action of law enforcement, we were able to have the district searched in such a timely fashion.

Go Trojans!
