Aim
 An Investigation to access the impact of business objectives on Teamwork at the Tastee
Patty Enterprise Ltd.

Objectives
1. How does Teamwork affects the production/service provided

2. To Investigate how business objectives can improve teamwork in the company.

3. How does employees of Tastee work towards business objectives as a team

Research Question
1. How good is Teamwork within Tastee Patty Enterprise Ltd?

2. What are the strategies used to motivate teamwork?

3. How do employees in an organization respond to teamwork?

4. Are Team members treated equally within the organization?

Background to the Topic/Issues: After searching through multiple sources, the researchers
stumbled upon a textbook written and published by J. Pitterson (2014) that speaks about
objectives and teamwork. According to page 29, it states that for a business to become
successfully, it needs to outline measureable and achievable objectives. They must be ‘SMART’
this will give the employer/employees a clear vision of where the business is going to get there.
On page 98, it state that a team’s nature embedded in the objectives it sets out to achieve.

The types of Objectives Factor- Objectives can be broken down into short-term, medium- term
and long- term objectives, based on the time frame in which they should be achieved.

Flexibility Factor – To this end, team member must be aware of the possible changes that might
occur and be ready to adapt to new situation.
Tastee strives to

 Encourage teamwork with heavy focus on details, while promoting a spirit of

 To maintain our number one position as the best patty-maker on the local and
international markets.

In 1966, Mr. Vincent Chang; Founder and Chairman, on completion of two baking courses
returned from the United States to Jamaica to begin a career in baking. In June of that year, he
purchased an existing business located at Union Square which sold snacks, biscuits, cakes,
buns and meat loaves. Mr. Chang saw the need for a product that would be both appealing and
filling and went on to create the formula for the Tastee Patty, a Jamaican favourite to this day.
By 1968, patty production and sales grew and the business was relocated to 25a Half Way
Tree Road and the Company ‘Tastee Limited’ was incorporated. This location still houses our
Kingston Factory, Administrative Offices and two Retail Shops.

The Company has made every effort to remain current, and as a result has widened its meal
offerings to our customers. Tastee patties and products are enjoyed in schools Island wide.

Tastee employs over 1000 Employees Island wide, including both franchise and factory
workers. Considered the industry leader, Tastee provides the highest quality products and
services while continuing to develop amongst customers a high degree of trust, by consistently
delivering efficient and reliable services through a team of professional customer-focused
employees. The company’s growth and continued development since its establishment in 1966
is a testament to the effectiveness of its corporate culture and customer loyalty.
