HOMEWORK

BUSINESS ARHITECTURE
• In my opinion the most ”odd one out” building is the new German Parliament building, from
Berlin. It has a semi-spherical shape and inside it has a cone –shape. That makes her look weird
and controversial at the same time
• Swiss Re Headquarters, London.
So the most odd one out building is swiss re headquarters London not the new german
parliament building. swiss re headquarters London also called gherkin is the odd one out builing and the
most controversial architecture.Because of the shape it eliminates more heat and it doesn’t need air-
conditioning on most floors.
• The popular building ”Gherkin” won the UK s top arhitectural award for its designers led by
Norman Foster.
Due to its clever structure, it eliminates much heat before it enters the building, so workers are
more productive and the building s owner will save money on air-conditioning!
• a. - commissioned by Swiss Reinsurance
- the arhitects receive $36.000 in prize money.
b. -it is already a popular icon on the city skyline.
c. - design; - management;
d. - the award raises some contrversial issues about aesthetics.
e. -eco-friendly.
• A) The building where I work is The Louvre. It is the world’s largest art museum and a historic
monument in Paris,France. These are an unusal pyramidal shape .It’s shape is unsuitable for it’s
location.Considering that it is made of glass on the outside,it is very attractive to the eyes. It
respects all the norms of the environment. It’s a great pleasure to work here ,there are many
historical exhibitions. I couldn’t change anything about it ,only the security of precious objects to
be stricter.
B) The building I would like to win a ”Business building of the year” is Madame Tussauds.
Madame Tussauds is a wax museum in London, with a major tourist attraction; it has smaller
museums in a number of other majore cities (Berlin, New York, Washington, Hollywood, China etc)
Some sculpures still exist that were made by Marie Tussaud herself. The gallery originally contained
some 400 different figures.
