Memories

Senior year is the most memorable year of a person’s life. My daughter’s senior year

started during a global pandemic with school virtually. This is not how I had imagined my

daughter’s senior year, but we will make the most of it. Her high school journey was filled with a

lot of memories that she will never forget.

Ashna’s year started off with a lot of stress as she having to manage her collge

applications and studying for her SAT. With the pandemic, her SAT kept getting canveled,

which caused her so much stress. There were many deadlines that needed to be meet in terms of

her college application. Ashna was very excited to write her college essay and discuss her

experiences with her college. Ashna got a lot of scholarship considerations from the scholarships

that she applied for.

Since Ashna is a Medical Honor officer, she plans medically related activities for

members of MHS to do. This brought her lot of joy as many people in the community are

struggling with the pandemic. Another part of her senior year was National Honor Society,

where she collected items to donate to homeless shelters.

Ashna is very excited to go to college, but she is going to miss her friends and the

experiences she made at Bayside High School. She has told me numerous times how much she

loves participating in the HOSA commpetiotn and how she will miss the events there. Ashna also

will miss going to school dances like Homecoming. It was sad that she never got the chance to

go to Ring Dance and experience her ring ceremony.

With Ashna’s senior year not being over just yet, she is excited for her graduation

ceremony. This is a very important moment for any high school student as they have completed

four years of high school. I hope that Ashna can experience prom and be able to plan a Senior

trip. I am sure Ashna will take her experiences from high school and apply them to her college

life.
