Abbreviations:

Supplies:
 4mm Crochet Hook
 1.5 Skeins (7oz) Main Body Color
 Small Amount of Yarn for Accent Colors and Details
I use Red Heart Classic yarn, this is a worsted weight yarn. I have used Red Heart Super
Soft and it turned out well, so most worsted weight yarn should be just fine.

 Small Amount of Ribbon in Desired Color
 Sewing Needle
 Thread in Similar Color to Ribbon
This pattern is done in the round. The ear is the exception, it will be done in rows.
Finished product stand about 24 inches tall.
Arms:
Make 2
With Main Color
Rnd 1: 6 sc DAR [6]
Rnd 2: (2sc first 2 st, sc next st) twice [10]
Rnd 3: (2sc first st, sc next st, 2sc next st, sc next 2 st) twice [14]
Rnd 4: (2sc first 2st, sc next st, 2sc next 2 st, sc next 2 st) twice [22]
Rnd 5: (2sc first 3 st, sc next 2st, 2sc next 3 st, sc next 3 st) twice [34]
Rnd 6-13: sc around [34]
Rnd 14: (dec2tog 3 times, sc next 11 st) twice [28]
Rnd 15: dec2tog twice, sc next 8 st, dec2tog 3 times, sc next 8 st, dec2tog [22]
Rnd 19: (dec2tog, sc next 9 st) twice [20]
Begin Stuffing

Rnd 22: (dec2tog, sc next 3 st) around [16]
Fasten off. Stuff to desired stiffness, leave the top of the arm lightly stuffed.
Legs:
Make 2
With Accent Color
Leave beginning tail long and sew up any large holes left at ends of chain after doing a couple of rounds.
Rnd 1: Ch 5. *2sc in the 2nd chain from hook, sc next 2 st, 2sc in last st*
Rotate work, and continue on the back side of the ch, starting with the first st, repeat * [12]
Rnd 2: (2sc first st, sc next 3 st, 2sc next st, sc next st) twice [16]
Rnd 3: (sc first st, 2sc next 2 st, sc next 3 st, 2sc next 2 st) twice [24]
Rnd 4: (sc first 2 st, 2sc next 3 st, sc next 4 st, 2sc next 3 st) twice [36]

Begin stuffing the foot, and continue to stuff as you create the leg.

Fasten off. Finish stuffing, leaving the top stuffed lightly.

Stuff the head.
Rnd 38: Fold the arms in half, be sure to make sure the flatter sides of the hands will be against the side
of the bear and facing out when attached. This will make the arm only 8 st, rather than 16, 2 sts lined up
next to each other.
sc the first 8 st, attaching the arm as you go. To do so, put the hook through both loops of both
side-by-side sts of the arm, then through both loops of the st on the bear body, yarn over, pull up the
loop through all but 1 loop (2 loops on hook), yarn over, and pull through all loops, 1 sc created.
sc the next 7 st, sc the next 8 st while attaching the 2nd arm, sc last 7 st [30]
Rnd 39: sc around [30]

Rnd 73: Fold leg in half and attach with same technique as arms.
You will attach only part of the foot to start, and finish attaching the rest at the end of the rnd.
This will make the placement of the feet correct with the placement of the arms.
sc the first 4 st, attaching the last 4 st of first foot with these 4 sts. Dec2tog, sc next 7 st, sc next
9 st attaching the second foot with these 9 sts. Dec2tog, sc next 3 st, dec2tog, sc next 7 st, (dec2tog, sc
next 10 st) twice. Dec2tog, sc next 5 st, sc last 5 st attaching rest of first leg with these 5 sts. [66]
Begin stuffing the body.

Finish stuffing.
Rnd 82: (dec2tog, sc next st) around [12]
Rnd 83: dec2tog around [6]
Fasten off, tie off hole.
Nose:
Rnd 1: 6sc DAR [6]
Rnd 6: (2sc first 3 st, sc next 12 st) twice [36]
Fasten off, leaving tail long for sewing.
Satin stitch on nose with dark brown yarn before attaching to the bear head. I like to use the point of
the nose at the bottom as the same hole for all stitches, then stitch vertically along the top of the nose,
always using the same point at the bottom. When I have made the shape of the nose this way, solid
with yarn, I go back and stick back and forth with satin stitch horizontally with the shape of the nose.
This gives the nose good shape and makes it stick out just a little.
Stuff nose and sew on to the face. I find it helps to stuff lightly, sew on most of the way, then finish
stuffing and finishing sewing on.
Ears:
With Accent Color
Row 1: ch 2. 5sc in 2nd ch from hook. Ch 1, turn. [5]
Row 2: 2 sc each st. Ch 1, turn. [10]
Row 3: (2sc first st, sc next st) across [15]
Row 4: (2sc first st, sc next 2 st) across [20]
Switch to main color.
Row 5: sc across. Ch 1, turn. [20]
Row 6: BLO sc across. Ch 1, turn. [20]
Row 7: (dec2tog, sc next 2 st) across. Ch 1, turn. [15]
Row 8: (dec2tog, sc next st) across. Ch 1, turn. [10]
Row 9: dec2tog across. Sl st through both layers to edge. Ch 1, turn. [5]
Row 10: sc across the bottom of the ear, joining the two sides as go.
Sew on to head.
Eyes:
Make 2
Rnd 1: 4 sc DAR [4]
Add refection dots to each eye with french knots.
Sew on to face above the nose.

Tail:
Rnd 1: 6 sc DAR [6]
Rnd 4: (2sc first, sc next 2 st) around [12]
Stuff lightly. Fold in half, dec2tog sts and join the 2 sides at the same time. About 4 sts across.
Sew on to back of bear.
Paw Pads:
Make 2 (one for each front paw)
Rnd 1: 6sc DAR [6]
Rnd 2: (2sc first 2 st, sc next st) twice [10]
Rnd 3: (2sc first 2 st, sc enxt 3 st) twice [14]
Make 6 (3 for each front paw)

Rnd 1: 6sc DAR [6]
Sew each pad on to the flat sides of paw, facing the body, forming the shape of a paw print.
Use the ribbon and tie a bow around Dawson’s neck. Use thread of a similar color and make small
stitches through the knot of the bow to prevent it from being able to come undone. I also like to stitch it
to the bear with these stitches so the bow cannot slide around the neck.
