Sensitivity to environmental sustainability practices has significantly increased, and with the

need to report progress on the implementation of sustainability practices. Environment

management systems (EMS) provide a way for companies to integrate their procedures and

processes of training, summarize, and report technical information about environmental

performance to internal and external stakeholders. The need for environmental accountability

increases the need for EMS systems and provides IT firms an opportunity to produce EMS

systems for sale and their use. Future IT firms that will implement EMS will benefit from

improved revenue growth and market reputability.

There is a growing need for EMS systems for accounting for a firm's environmental

performance. Several international projects, such as the Sustainable Development Goal 17,

emphasize the need to adopt sustainability practices and progress reports. As Sustainable

Development Goal 17 takes root, the business agenda will be under pressure to report how they

are fairing in implementing environment-friendly best practices. An increasing need for EMS

systems will provide an opportunity for IT firms to develop them-and, thus giving room for

revenue growth.

The concept of sustainability cuts across all industries; even IT firms must incorporate Green

technologies, thus providing EMS's need. Earlier implementation of these systems into their

reporting framework will facilitate the creation of reputability. The market is keen on rewarding

firms sensitive to maintaining and preventing the environment from further degradation.
