Death Penalty, also known as capital punishment, is reinstated by former PNP

Chief and incumbent Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa. His reason is to threaten those
who continue to do drugs. But his statement that evidence or proof being always wanted
or sought after will lead to nothing is quite irrational. In my personal opinion, the justice
system here in the Philippines is not that fast and somehow less reliable. Why? It can
be seen on how our current administration handles large number of cases; some are
without judicial powers.
Why would I be against Sen. Dela Rosa’s statement? Simply because if proof will
not be sought after during the duration of death penalty, many innocent lives would be
ruined, some would be blamed or accused of a crime they didn’t commit. Money can
easily blind people, a reasonable amount would easily flip the script. We need these
evidences to prove that the person accused is guilty, without it, we can send an
innocent person to prison without even realizing that the person is innocent.
So, it’s a no for me regarding death penalty, and a no for me on the statement of
Sen. Bato
