News about Moon Fool Theatre Company's 10-day intensive Voice & Performance Residency in Italy

this August 2021, with a view to the interest of students, researchers or faculty members.

"Anna-Helena is an alma mater of the Gardzienice theatre company from Poland... she has
developed a genuinely informed, intellectually engaged researching practice as a teacher and
workshop leader”.

The residency is focused on international artistic collaboration, physio-vocal actor training, and
ensemble performance practice. In previous years, participants have come from across five
continents, forming a dynamic working group of actors, singers, theatre makers, researchers and
teachers.

Anna-Helena McLean (Artistic Director) will be leading the residency. She was a principal performer
with Gardzienice (seminal experimental anthropological theatre in Poland) for seven years before
returning to the UK to develop her own unique Actor-Chorus-Text (ACT) practice that forms the basis
of Moon Fool’s productions. She has taught at world leading drama institutes including Royal
Conservatoire of Scotland, Rose Bruford College, National School of Drama in Delhi, and the Yale and
DePaul Schools of Drama, and is currently working as an extended voice and music leader for Tract
and Touch while pursuing a PhD at Guildhall.
The residency is hosted by Centro Anidra, an holistic centre and biodynamic farm in the wild
countryside of Borzonasca, Liguria which operates at COVID secure levels of hygiene and diligence.
Further to COVID testing, participants live and work together, including spending six hours per week
as farmhands, and full bed and board is included in the cost of the residency. There is the option of
childcare and enrolling in the daily Forest School available at special rates for artists-parents. It is
worth pointing out that Centro Anidra is a registered Erasmus + Traineeship centre, and therefore
there are funding options for students looking for placements abroad. N.B Erasmus + is still open to
UK applicants until end 2021.

Follow the link for more information about the residency below and I would urge notice that a
limited number of best offers are available until the 14th of February – I hope you agree that it
would be of interest to people in your network. Please let me know if you have any more questions, I
am more than happy to answer any and all.
Very best wishes,
