Virginia Lynch

Virginia Lynch is outlined as the mother of forensic nursing. Lynch is one of the 19th-

century nurses who played an essential contribution to leadership and nursing care services.

While Virginia was in nursing school, she encountered a victim after a rape case (Maguire &

Raso, 2017). Sadly, the police informed her that the rapist would likely not be found since her

evidence in the form of the victim’s clothes, personal items, and specimens were lost. The police

claimed that maybe the evidence as not turned into the authorities.

Markedly, Virginia played a crucial role in leadership aspects as she proposed to increase

education by keeping the evidence intact. Lynch launched her forensic career as a

methodological death analysis in Fort Worth, Tex. in 1984. Lynch aimed to educate people on

how to keep the evidence and use it to find the criminals. Additionally, Lynch resulted in the

creation of a novel nursing form. Through Virginia efforts, forensic nursing is keeping more

criminals safely and behind bars. Her efforts have ensured an increase in women’s safety.

Virginia’s contributions to forensic nursing science resulted in coordination and cooperation

increase. Her leadership skills prepared people to always be responsible and vigilant in every life

aspect (Maguire & Raso, 2017). The development of forensic nursing science has created a

change in the healthcare sector in the provision of quality medical services. Lynch has touched

the lives of countless individuals by delivering quality care services. Forensic nursing

intervention objectives include goal documentation, injury assessment, collection of forensic

data, and evidence. Lynch’s introduction of forensic nursing has created a change in health care
services through the protection of violence or rape victims. Likewise, it has ensured justice is

provided and safety services.

The contribution of Virginia Lynch in leadership and healthcare is a crucial aspect. The

leadership services create a legacy for the next generation and enable them to make a difference

a nursing profession component. Forensic nursing includes the forensic science application in the

scientific investigation, evidence collection, analysis, prevention, and treatment services. This

occurring and protecting individuals (Maguire & Raso, 2017). The forensic nursing technique is

essential as it majors on collaborative, coordinated care, and communication aspects among

agencies. However, this subject outlines the importance of care and handling victims of violence

or rape. The forensic nurses play a significant role in death analysis and communication to the

families. This subject reveals the importance of offering educational programs to educate people

on regulations and ethics codes. The education programs ensure individuals are aware of the

necessary action in case of an incident.
