ABSTRACT

One sign of a positive development in the industrial world is the absorption of a large
number of workers to find work in their own country. PT Qumicon Indonesia as a
national company engaged in infrastructure and traffic safety equipment services has
120 workers with various job positions according to their fields. With these conditions
in a certain period of time PT Qumicon Indonesia conducts employee performance
assessments to get performance evaluations using the Microsoft Excel form. The
limited ability of excel often results in the HRD conducting the assessment experiencing
problems in completing the assessment process quickly and efficiently. Therefore, a
decision support system for employee performance appraisal was built using the simple
additive weighting (SAW) method to facilitate HRD in processing the performance
appraisal of PT Qumicon Indonesia's employees. The system was built using Netbeans
8.2 software, Java as the programming language, and Mysql as the database server,
and simple additive weighting as the method applied in the assessment process. The
system produces employee appraisals that are more structured and easy to understand.
In addition, the system also helps cut the time needed to conduct employee performance
appraisals from the previously implemented appraisal process.
