Firefighter Rescue Scenario

A firefighter has escaped a hostile situation by diving through a window. He has some
injuries and will not be able to rescue himself using the ladder or other means. Assume
that the fire has not yet been extinguished.

• How will you get him down?

• What safety considerations must be observed during the rescue operations?
• What hazards appear to be present?
• What other factors should be considered at this event; Where is his
partner?
• What are the command actions/reactions to this incident?
• Develop at least 2 rescue plans for him in the event conditions change and
you are unable to use your primary plan.
