1. Rhythm – It is defined as a movement or procedure with uniform or patterned
recurrence of a beat, accent, or the like. In music, it is the pattern of regular or irregular pulses caused in music by the occurrence of strong and weak melodic and harmonic beats 2. Beat - In music, it is defined as the basic rhythmic unit of a measure, or bar, not to be confused with rhythm as such; nor is the beat necessarily identical with the underlying pulse of a given piece of music, which may extend over more than a single beat. 3. Tempo – It is the rate of speed of a musical piece or passage indicated by one of a series of directions (such as largo, presto, or allegro) and often by an exact metronome marking. 4. Time signature – It is an indication of rhythm following a clef, generally expressed as a fraction with the denominator defining the beat as a division of a whole note and the numerator giving the number of beats in each bar. 5. Rhythm and rhythmic activities- Structured forms which start creative rhythmic movements are called rhythms while rhythmic activities are the physical manifestations of the mental and emotional response of the individual to rhythm. They are activities which a child responds to physically, socially, and mentally to regular patterns of sound.
