PRACTICE ARCHITECTURAL LETTERFORMS

Style characteristics:
1. Legible, clear + consistent letterforms.

2. Use uppercase only.

3. Keep verticals vertical.

4. Introduce a slight angle to horizontal strokes.

Practice:
1. Use guidelines (printed underlays - or - construct your own).

2. Start small: set guideline spacing at 1/8” - 3/16” for best results.

3. Begin at the top of the letterform, use down strokes to create the verticals first.

4. Continue to horizontals next, imparting a slight upward angle where appropriate.

5. Proportions should be (roughly) square.
