Topic : The application of Thermo-electric Generator (TEG)

Thermoelectric generator is also known as Seebeck Generator is mostly used nowadays for producing
electricity from heat flux. These kind of generators mechanism is most likely heat engine but they are
small in size. They are usually costly but their efficiency rate is low.

Thermoelectric generator or TEG has many applications in different fields. Thermoelectric generator
mainly focuses on recovering lost thermal energy. The frequent application is using these generators
in pipe lines such as for cathodic protection and radio communication.

They also use in enhancing fuel performance in automobiles mostly on cars. Thermoelectric
generators use the heat generated during vehicle optimization. Besides in spacecraft these kind of
generators are employed. In some countries TEGs are planted for supplying power for the remote
stations such as relay networks,whether system etc.

TEGs are also used in producing electricity in uttermost environment and in remote areas such as
deep oceans,on top of mountains and also the vacuum of space. Micro sensors are also powered by
thermoelectric generator. For increasing power production from solar cells thermoelectric generator
are going to be used for lower frequency radiation.

In some electronic devices, microprocessor generate waste heat. Researchers are trying to recycle
them by using thermoelectric generator. Also in low power remote applications thermoelectric
generator is largely use. Where big generators are not possible to operate, TEG is used to provide
power.

Thermo electric generator need least amount of maintenances and they can perform efficiently in
the thermal to electric conversation relentlessly. That’s why thermal electric generators are suitable
for low to gentle powered equipments.
