Roles

Director – Brandon Bjerke is responsible for overseeing the creative aspect of

the film. He will develop a series of storyboard annotations to carry the
vision out, deciding how the film should look. He is responsible for turning
the script into a sequence of shots. He will also direct what tone it should
have and what an audience should gain from the cinematic experience.
Brandon will also play a key role in post-production. He will ensure with
Stacie that the emotions of the scene and the close ups, mid shots,
wide/long shots, etc. reflect which character is driving the narrative. He will
also work with Lindsay to make sure the sound mix and musical composition
of the film is accurate.

Camera Operator – Ger Thao is responsible for physically operating the

camera and maintaining composition throughout the scenes. He is required
to arrive on location with his equipment (Sony HVR-A1U camera, camera
tripod, Omni lighting kit.) He is required to communicate clearly and
concisely on film sets in order to achieve the highest expectations to which
the shot is set. He will only come to shoots prepared with the understanding
that all equipment checked out has been tested and is in working condition.

Production Manager – Drew Carlson is responsible for making sure that the
production runs smoothly. He acts as the administrator and supervisor to
ensure that everyone and everything is readily fashion. He understands
when the deadlines are due for the Group Work Agreement, Production book,
postproduction paper work and the Group Work and Production Critique and
will submit them on WebVista.

Audio – Lindsay is responsible for recording all sound and sound effects
during filming. She is required to arrive on location with her equipment (2
wireless LAV units, 3 XLR cables, Shure FP-33 mixer and stationery for
making notes.) She is required to communicate clearly and concisely on film
sets in order to achieve the highest expectations to which the shot is set.
She will only come to shots prepared with the understanding that all
equipment checked out has been tested and is in working condition.
Editor – Stacie Simonpietri is responsible for assembling the footage. She
must creatively work with the Media 100 editing suite to produce a series of
shots, images, dialogue, and music to craft the film as a whole. Any
application difficulties must be met with the instructor or other member of
the group to assist her as necessary.

Expectations

The following expectations were discussed and agreed upon at the first
group meeting on January 31st at 8:30 pm
o All members are expected to be present for all shoots. In the
event of tardiness or absence to a shoot that will jeopardize a
workday, the group member must call the Production Manager
immediately.
o Members reserving gear will pick-up and return all items on the
assigned dates and will relay information to the Production
Manager. Any group member who fails to reserve the correct
gear will face proper penalty.
o Members reserving gear will also consider safety as a first
priority and will obtain proper gloves, and sandbags when
picking up equipment.
o All group members will critique and do their portion of the online
edit as assigned in the timeline.
o Any group member who is unable to perform his or her work
sufficiently at any point in the shoot will be removed from the
group and will get a zero for the production as a whole. This
includes showing up to a shoot hung over, unable to work
essential pieces of gear, or unable or unwilling to stay on task for
the production segment being worked on.
o Problems such as interpersonal issues, scheduling problems, and
other communication problems will be managed in-group.
Addressing the instructor in the event that the problem is not
resolved will be used accordingly.
o All significant problems will be directed to the instructor so that
he is in the loop prior to the group work evaluation being handed
in.
o All group members will split food and beverage expenses so that
the talents and the crew are able to perform at their best.
o Abuse of any kind (physical, sexual, verbal) will not be tolerated.
o If a group member fails to demonstrate any of the above
expectations, the instructor will be contacted and a series of
penalties, such as deduction of points or termination of the group
member, will be enforced.
Communication:

The group agrees to check their e-mail on a constant regular basis and
provide a “Reply to all” response for proper communication.
In the event of an emergency which causes the absence to a shoot or
possible tardiness (as stated above in Expectations) use of text messaging,
and phone calls is strongly required.

Agreement:

We, the group members, agree the above agreement covers our
expectations and obligations in order to successfully complete “The Show”
project.
