Posterior knee and calf pain. Throbbing pain. Moderate and intermittent pain. Increases with activity.
Not associated with crepitus. No radiation. No numbness. No locking. No giving way
No Fever
Both legs:
Calf tenderness present. Oedema present. Mild tightness in legs and feet due to oedema. No glistering
skin. No stretch pain. Homans sign positive. No raise of temperature. Distal pulses felt normal volume.
Normal bilateral thighs
Explained about the preliminary differential diagnoses and initial workup plan to
the patient.
Impression: Calf pain due to muscle spasm/ exertional pain
Later explained about the probable diagnosis. Explained about the treatment
options and its complications. Patient was convinced about the management
plan.

Patient needs were assessed, there was no educational barrier. Patient received education on potential
interactions, between prescribed medications and other medications (including over the counter
medications) and also food.
