Alice Groy (1914-1994) also provided inspiration by streamlining the communication of origami ideas. All of the novice-levet works in this collection ore dedicated to Alice and her love of simple, elegant pieces Throughout the years as our presentation hes grown more polished, the goal of showcasing great origami has not diminished. The editors of the Origami Collection spend many hours curating, testing and editing origami designs to produce a book that will appeal to origemi aficionados of all levels and interests. Voriety is a key criterion: you will find works here by established origami artists as well as many hidden gems from up-and-coming stars. Most of the pieces are making their debut in these pages. We hope you are as excited about discovering these diagrams as we are in presenting them. This variation adds inside reverse folds to give the star points a slender and spikey appearance. Paper: You will need six 2:1 rectangles. If you cut three 3-inch (7.5 cm) squares in half, you will have six rectangles, each 1.5 x 3-inches (3.75 x 7.5 cm). You may use one, two, three or six different colors or patterns. Vary the position of the inside reverse folds for a snowflake or flower variation, Notes on Model Design: In201, Rachel Katz was helping the Origami Peace Tree Project with an origami exhibit. She needed some stars for an origami representation of the U.S. flag, Her own modular star made from 5 or 6 joined waterbomb bases (with the 4 “arms” on each waterbomb base folded up) had too much depth so she experimented by cutting the reat sections off and that is how she discovered the unit for this mode! which is basically the front haif only of her waterbemb base unit, Rachel's original REM Star diagrams can be found on her website: www.origamiwithrachelkatz.com, as weil as OrigamiUSA's 2012 Origami Collection. My variation with the narrowed points was inspired by a modular star from a different unit that was shown to me in 2002 by Phoenix, Arizona folder Cathy Wilimzig.
