 Toolbox talks about the task
 Personel protective equipment is ensured throughout the tasks..
 Ensure all permit to work is duly signed before the commencement of the task.

ERECTION OF SCAFFOLD
 Industrial galvanized steel scaffold 13m high will be erected around the oil storage tanks 14m high
to access the top of the oil storage tank by competent scaffold erectors. Scaffold shall be
inspected and tagged after approval

DISCONNECTION OF EXISTING PIPES

 Disconnecting the existing Pipes by a competent personnel
 Cutting of some joint of Pipes that is attached to the tanks by competent fitter using cutting
machine

REPAIR OF OIL STORAGE TANK

DECOMMISSIONING OF DAMAGED SECTIONS OF THE TANK

Two competent fitter using the erected scaffold as a means of accessing height will cut off the upper layer (dome)
of the oil storage tank 1and 3 (mild steel plate ) 14m high, 10.8m diameter and 18m high,11.7m diameter, with
the aid of oxy-acetylene gas bit by bit in sections for easy removal. The competent fitters will carefully lower
down the mild steel plate pieces one after the other with the use of mooring ropes and safely secure them. The
cap handle angle iron, and hand rail will be decommissioned, then the personnel will proceed to remove the first
couch of the tank by cutting the plate bit by bit in 400mm size each of this will be falling inside the tank filled with
water below the man hole position. The man hole is about 500mm, it will be possible to bring out all the offcut
plates one after the other through the man hole after the decommissioning.

FABRICATION AND WELDING OF TANKS

At an agreed location by site contact person, fabrication of the tank shell will be done by competent pipe fitter
using 6mm mild steel plate, the measurement will be taken according to the specification, then the mild steel
plate will be cut into the desired sizes using angle grinding machine and bent into the desired shape with bending
machine, then the plate that has been bent into desired sizes will be hoisted up to be fitted and aligned after
which the welding activity will commence.

RECONNECTION OF PIPES TO THE TANK

All the decommissioned pipes on the tank will be reconnected appropriately

DISMANTLING OF ERECTED SCAFFOLD
