- Transitive: The plant emits radiation

Aguments’ thematic roles: ‘the plant’ is the agent or location: ‘radiation’ could be
instrument?

3. Exert
Transitivity: Mono transitive (could it be complex transitive?)

- Monotransitive: The moon exerts gravitation on the sea.

Arguments’ thematic roles: ‘The moon” is an agent, ‘gravitation’ is the instrument, and
‘on the sea’ is the patient.

Question: in the case I use exert in the following form: I exert myself to understand it.
What kind of transitivity does it has? Would that be ditransitive?

4. Sinter
Transitivity: Mono transitive or intransitive.

- Monotransitive: They sintered gold dust into ingots.


- Intransitive: The rust sintered.
