A big fire hit the Tondo area near

the sea. Hundreds of houses were

burned and many families were left
homeless. After the fire, the place
became a big, open space. Only burned
woods, stones, and twisted galvanized
iron sheets were left.
Many families who had no place to go
were sadly grouped together. Their few
belongings were piled near them.
Not long after, the Red Cross people
arrived to help the fire victims.
They brought canvass tents,
clothings, mats, food
and medicines.
