One day, A girl was sitting on a chair at the gas station she worked at. She looked up and saw her
boyfriend walk in.

As he was looking at snacks, a man walked in and pointed a gun at her. He had been admiring her ring
her boyfriend had given to her as a token of his love. When he asked her to give it to him, she said no.
Her boyfriend looked up just in time to see her shot. He ran over to the killer and beat him over the
head with a hammer that was for sale. Then he ran and called 911. When the ambulance came, he was
sobbing uncontrollably near his girlfriend.

The doctor came over and felt for her pulse. Then he stood up and said she was still alive. Later at the
hospital, as he was sitting beside her, he asked"Why didn't you just give him the ring?" and then she
softly spoke"Because when you gave it to me, you said it was part of your love for me and I knew if I
gave him the ring, I would lose that love." The next day, she was pronounced dead.

One day a monkey wanted to cross a river. He saw a crocodile in the river, so he asked the crocodile to
take him across the other side. The crocodile told the monkey to jump on its back. Then the crocodile
swam down the river.

Now, the crocodile was very hungry, so when it was in the middle of the river, it stopped and said to the
monkey, ”Monkey, my father is very sick. He must eat the heart of the monkey. Then he will be strong
again.”

The monkey thought for a while. Then he told the crocodile to swim back to the river bank.

“What’s for?” asked the crocodile.

“Because I didn’t bring my heart with me,” said the monkey. “I left it under the tree, near some
coconuts.”

So, the crocodile turned around and swam back to the bank of the river. As soon as they reached the
river bank, the monkey jumped off the crocodile’s back and climbed up to the top of a tree.

“Where is your heart?” asked the crocodile.

“You are foolish,” the monkey said to the crocodile. “Now I am free and you have nothing.”

The monkey told the crocodile not to try to fool him again. The crocodile swam away, hungry.

The Boy who cried “Wolf”

There was once a shepherd-boy who kept his flock at a little distance from the village. Once he thought
he would play a trick on the villagers and have some fun at their expense. So he ran toward the village
crying out, with all his might,

“Wolf! Wolf! Come and help! The wolves are at my lambs!”

The kind villagers left their work and ran to the field to help him. But when they got there the boy
laughed at them for their pains; there was no wolf there.

Still another day the boy tried the same trick, and the villagers came running to help and got laughed at
again. Then one day a wolf did break into the fold and began killing the lambs. In great fright, the boy
ran for help.

“Wolf! Wolf!” he screamed. “There is a wolf in the flock! Help!”

The villagers heard him, but they thought it was another mean trick; no one paid the least attention, or
went near him. And the shepherd-boy lost all his sheep.
How do seasons happen?

Seasons come to us regularly. We have probably noticed that it gets warmer in summer or dry season
while it get colder in the winter or wet season. However do we know how these seasons change?

Seasons happen and change every year. This happens because the earth tilts back and forth as it goes
around the sun. During the summer, the earth tilts toward the sun. It makes half of the earth hotter. this
condition is what we call summer. During the other half of the year, the earth tilts away from the sun. As
a result, it makes that half of the earth cooler. This cool condition is then what we call winter.

The different parts of the world have the same season at different times. In the northern half of the
world , winter happens during the months of December, January and February. The regions are such
North America and Europe. In the other hand, the southern half of the world have winter during the
months of June, July and August. The regions are like South America and Australia. How does this
difference happen? The same season happens at different times because the top and bottom halves of
the earth tilt away from the sun at different times.

Taufik Hidayat Quiting National Badminton Team

After 13 years of service, which culminated in an Olympic gold medal, shuttler Taufik Hidayat announced
Friday his resignation from the national training camp in Jakarta.

“My decision to resign is final. It’s not an impulse or emotional decision. I’ve been thinking about
quitting the national team since 2004, after I won at the Athens Olympics,” he said. “However, people
kept on encouraging me to stay in the national team, considering my potential and my youth. Therefore
I stayed until 2008.”

In 2001, Taufik threatened to quit the training camp because of Mulyo’s exclusion. Mulyo is his mentor.
He only rejoined the national team after the PBSI agreed to reinstate Mulyo. In 2004, Taufik made yet
another threat to quit, and again backed down from it.

“It’s time for younger players to take the baton. I’m giving way to them. It’s all about regeneration in
Indonesian badminton,” he said.
