GENERAL INTRODUCTION
This soil test prepared as per the agreement between Province Government, Ministry
of Physical
Infrastructure Development, Transport Infrastructure Directorate, Infrastructure
Development
Office Karnali Province, Salyan and Prayas Engineering Consultancy Pvt. Ltd.,
Jawlakhel, Lalitpur to
determine bearing capacity and subsurface exploration for design of Kavra Rambajar
Sankhamul Jodne
Sharada Nadi Motorable Bridge.
2. SCOPE OF INVESTIGATION
The scope of work includes the following:
 Making 100 mm nominal diameter bore holes each of 16.0 m depth at three specified
locations
using suitable approved method of boring.
 Conducting standard penetration tests in the bore holes at 1.50 m interval in
depth & at every
change of strata, whichever is earlier.
 Collecting undisturbed soil samples from bore holes at 3.00 m interval in depth
(if possible for
Undisturbed sampling) or at every change of strata, whichever is earlier.
 Collecting disturbed soil samples from bore holes at regular interval and at
every identifiable
change of strata to supplement the boring records.
 Recording the depth of ground water table in all the bore holes if observed up to
the depth of
exploration during boring work as per specifications.
 Conducting the laboratory tests on selected disturbed / undisturbed soil samples
collected from
various bore holes.
 Preparation and submission of reports
