Introduction:
This section provides the concepts of integrity and ethics. It intended to give the students
with conceptual clearness and display the ethical dilemmas and ethical decision making.
Learning Content:
Ethics is one of the branches of philosophy that deals with a system of moral principles.
It affects how people decide and control their lives. It is concerned with what is right for
individuals and society and also described as moral philosophy. The term "ethos" derives from
the Greek word, which means custom, habit, character, and disposition.
Ethics Approaches
Philosophers nowadays tend to divide ethical theories into three areas:
Meta-ethics- it deals with the nature of moral judgment. It looks at the origins and
meaning of ethical principles.
Normative ethics is concerned with the content of moral judgments and the criteria for
what is right or wrong.
Applied ethics- it looks at controversial topics like war, animal rights, and capital
punishment.
