Granular Material Spesification

1.1 Terms of using Granular Materials

Based on the requirements of LRT-CV-ST-CS-L3-DEPO ZONA 10 & 11 points 3.2.1, the using of granular material must
comply the AASHTO Class A-1 classification, here are the AASHTO A-1 requirements :

Based on the requirements of AASHTO A-1, there are several requirements that must be complete :

 Passing procentage of sieve No.10 (opening diameter 2.00 mm) must not exceed 50%
 Passing procentage of sieve No.40 (opening diameter 0.425 mm) must not exceed 30%
 Passing procentage of sieve No.200 (opening diameter 0.075 mm) must not exceed 15%
 Plasticy index must not exceed 6%

1.2 Analysis of Laboratory Test Results

The results of the sieve analysis laboratory test for granular material are as follows:
 the results of the sieve analysis in the laboratory :

 Passing procentage of sieve No.10 (opening diameter 2.00 mm) is 19,05 % (complete requirements)
 Passing procentage of sieve No.40 (opening diameter 0.425 mm) is 3.43 % (complete requirements)
 Passing procentage of sieve No.200 (opening diameter 0.075 mm) is 0% (complete requirements)

The results of laboratory testing of the plasticity index on granular materials is 5.59 % (complete requirements)

From the results of the analysis above, it can be concluded that the granular material complete tehe standards
requirements AASHTO A-1

1.3 Material testing on field

For controlling of the quality embankment works on heavy maintenance, depot provided series of test :

 Speedy Test to determine the moisture content of material in the field

 California bearing ratio to determine the structural strength of the subgrade
 Sandcone test for dry density embankment on site

Standards of Sand Cone Test using SNI 03-1965.1-2000

 1.4 frequency of granular material test

the standard used for testing granular materials (heavy maintenance embankment) is technical specification PT Adhi
karya TBK and Technical specification for highway and toll road ( Direktorat jendral binamarga)

 for every 1000 m3 of granular material production will be carried out laboratory tests, laboratory tests serve to
take samples of 5 plasticity index, 5 sample if grain size analysis and 1 sample of maximum dry density.

 Sandcone and cbr on field are continuously tested at every 700 m3 granular material which has been spread out
and compacted at heavy maintenance.
