Balance Diets

Human body needs foods for energy, body development, and protection. So man should
consume energy foods, body building foods and protective foods. When someone eats energy
foods, body building foods and protective foods as well it means he consumes balance diets.
Energy foods contain carbohydrate, while body-building foods have protein, and you can get
vitamins and mineral from protective foods.

The question is where can we get those kinds of foods? Base on the laboratory research; we can
get carbohydrate from staple foods such as rice, wheat flours, noodle, potatoes, banana, cassava,
corn and other foods like fats, cheese, sugar etc. One can have protein from animals such as fish,
beef, milks, eggs, as well as plants like soy bean, tofu, tempe, milks etc. You can consume
vitamins by eating vegetables like spinach, papaya leaf and flower, cassava leave, chilly, beans
for example long bean, green bean, red bean, Wind -pea, peas, peanut, chest nut. In addition, you
can also get vitamins from animals such as milk, fish and fruits as well like apple, grape, mango,
tangerine, orange, tomato, rambutan, etc.

Food consuming is measured by using calorie. For 1 kg of your weight you need 45 pries a' day
for man while for woman 40 calories. If you weigh 60 kg, you need to consume/ 60 kg x 45
calories = 2700 calories a day. If a woman weighs 52 kg, she should consume'52 kg x 40
calories - 2080 caloric a day. You have to divide 3 of your foods, since you have meal three
times a day. Ideally you eat more foods at breakfast and lunch since you spend more energy by
these times, and less foods at dinner because you don't need much energy by this time.

Food proportion depends on one age, For children and people < 40 should eat more energy and
body building foods rather than protective foods. They need more energy due to their high
movement and activities compare to those who are > 40. The people > 40 should consume more
protective and body building foods since their ability to do physical activity and moment less
than the young people. They need to play game and sport to spend their energy, otherwise they
will get degenerative diseases such as cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc.
