SIGNIFICANCE AND DRIVERS OF SERVICE QUALITY

While the substance and determinants of quality may be undefined, its importance to firms and
consumers is unequivocal. Delivering excellent service quality is widely recognized as a critical
business requirement since it contributes to market share and return on investment. Many authors agree
that in today’s dynamic market place and market space, organization no longer compete only on cost but
more importantly on service/product quality. In a competitive marketplace where business competes for
customers, delivering quality service is seen as a key differentiator and has increasingly become a key
element of business strategy. Moreover, service quality helps to create the necessary competitive
advantage by being an effective differentiating factor Price plays a vital role in telecommunication
market especially for mobile telecommunication service providers.
On the drivers of service quality, the most widely used model is the Service Profit Chain (SPC), first
proposed by Heskett It provides one of the most powerful and widely supported perspectives on this
issue. Overall, SPC sees organizational internal features as driver of employee satisfaction, which drives
service quality which is also identified as an antecedent of customer satisfaction which in turn drives
customer loyalty and retention that eventually leads to profitability and growth.

This section has given us a global view of what the notion of service and service quality is all about.
Therefore, it can be said that, service is any intangible product and the quality of service is like beauty
in the eyes of the beholder. After having seen what service and service quality is all about, the next
section shall present service loyalty framework.

It can include many objectives such as sales, growth, business expansion, the formation of strategic

within a company including sales, marketing, manufacturing, human resources, accounting, finance,

product development, etc.

Business Developers should be aware of new market opportunities, possibilities for expansion,

competitor developments and the current source of the company revenue.

As well the scope of Digital marketing is huge, and it is a platform best suited for promotions and

branding business. With people of almost all the age groups being highly active on digital interfaces, its

gats quite easy to reach to large number and promote. Analyzing these, there are now digital marketing

Challenges faced by the IT sector in India

• The IT sector of India needs to discard its old model of service providing and operations. The old

model popularly known as the ADM (Application, Development and Maintenance) is obsolete. It is

imperative that the IT sector resorts to the new model of ‘outcome-based billing’ and fixed contract-

based services

• The maturity of the offshore models has created a demand among the customers for a close proximity

of the service providers which may even involve setting up of near shore stations for support.

• There is a stiff competition from China, Philippines and Eastern Europe which are also proving to be

low cost and competitive countries. It is estimated that by 2020 they will be a 20% stakeholder in the

global IT export scenario.

• A shrinking talent pool in our country is also largely affecting the IT sector. The number of

employable graduates in the business sector is as low as 10% to 15% while that of qualified and

employable engineers is 26% only.

• IT giants like IBM and Accenture have now opened up their own centers in India with the same target

audience as that of the Indian IT Sector.

• The proposed development of the tier 2 and 3 cities has not gone as planned so the entire IT sector is

stagnated in the 9 major cities.

• It is imperative that the IT sector of India should focus on the new emerging trends like Social media,

Mobility, Analytics and Cloud (SMAC)

• There is a need for a total revamping of the infrastructure of the IT sector which unfortunately is

pending due to fund unavailability. Fund shortage is also affecting the medium and small IT enterprises

which need a basic financial injection for their start-up.

CHAPTER 3

1. Research Methodology

(sample size, instrument used, method of data collection)

2. Limitation
Research Methodology

To complete this report successfully I have to follow some methods. These are as follows:

Research Type: This research is descriptive in nature

Sampling Plan: The sampling for this research is as follows:

1. Sampling Frame: The research was conducted in different parts of Dhaka and Chittagong city.

2. Sampling Element: Other operators sim users living in Dhaka city were selected as sampling

element.

3. Sampling Procedure: For the research I have used non probability Convenience sampling technique.

4. Sample Size: My sample size for this research is 50

Limitation of Study

Despite of my highest effort the internship is not free from limitations. Some of those
limitations are mentioned as follows:
 One of the major limitations faced while conducting the study was to communicate with
the selected customers and officials of Fillip Technologies because they were very busy
with their regular jobs.

 Respondent’s unavailability.

 Difficult to excess some information because of company policies.

2 month is a short time to make the report incorporate with the internship task. So I faced time
limitation and unable to give enough time to make my report. A longer time period would have
ensured a much better result for the study findings.

I have already discussed about my report’s topic. As it is based on Business Development and Digital
Marketing Policies, we have to understand what are Business Development and Digital Marketing and
things related to it like Consumer Behavior. All these are described below:

Definition of Business Development & Digital Marketing

Business development comprises a number of tasks and processes generally aiming at developing and

implementing growth opportunities within an organization. It is a subset of the fields of business,

commerce, and organizational theory.

Digital Marketing is the use of the Internet, mobile devices, social media search engines, and other

channels to reach consumers. Some marketing experts consider digital marketing to be an entirely new

endeavor that requires a new way of approaching customers and new ways of understanding how

customers behave compared to traditional marketing.

Definition of consumer behavior

Consumer behavior has changed dramatically in the past decade. The term consumer behavior is defined
as the behavior that consumers display in searching for, purchasing, using, evaluating, and disposing of
products and services that they expect will satisfy their needs.
Consumer behavior focuses on how individuals make decisions to spend their available resources on
consumption related item.

Consumers are the main assets of any company. Every company need both things- earn profit and
satisfied their customers through their products. It is very hard to find out whether the customers are
fully satisfied or not. The behavior of consumers changes over time and whenever there is new or
different products in the market consumers may changes their behavior toward existing products.

If any company wants to keep their customers for long time and make them loyal to their products every
company have to understand their customer’s behavior. It is very important to understand the behavior
of customers and then providing the products or services according to the customers need and wants.

So, I think this is an important issue, that’s why I have decided to do research on customer’s behavior in
case on purchasing IT services from Fillip Technologies

Types of consumer
There are two types of consumer. They are:

1. Personal Consumer: Who buy goods or services for his or her own use, for the use of households, or

as a gift for a friend.

2. Organizational Consumer: It means profit and non-profit business, government agencies, and

institutions, all of which must buy products, and services in order to run their organizations.
Consumer behavior and decision making are interdisciplinary

Consumer behavior was a relatively a new field of study in the mid to late 1960s.Marketing theorists
borrowed heavily from concepts developed in other scientific disciplines such as

1 psychology- the study of individual,

2 sociology- the study of groups,
3 social psychology –the study of how an individual operates in groups,
4 anthropology- the influence of society on individuals, and
5 economics - rationally maximize their benefits

To form the basis of this new marketing discipline All these factors combine to form a model of
consumer behavior that reflects both the cognitive and emotional aspects of consumer decision making.

Business Development and Digital Marketing (BDDM) of Fillip

Technologies:

Business Development and Digital Marketing (BDDM) has a vision to achieve highest position in the IT
Services market of India through expanding market share by increasing new subscribers and holding the
existing customer by giving better service.

BDDR has three units-

1. Campaign Management
2. Enterprise Relationship Management
3. Churns Recovery

Campaign Management:

Campaign Management is the planning, executing, tracking and analysis of direct marketing

campaigns. Campaign Management unit plays a vital role for Fillip Technologies through proving

important information about market conducting different campaign and research. This unit has some

callers who call the customer directly to take their opinion for research purpose. Campaign Management

also ensures quality of customer service provided by customer care agents from Fillip Technologies

Care line 121 and from Fillip Technologies Customer Care Centers (CCC), Fillip Technologies Points

(BP), and Fillip Technologies Service Point (BSP).

Enterprise Relationship Management (ERM):

Enterprise relationship management or ERM is a business method in relationship management

beyond customer relationship management. Enterprise Relationship Development Management keeps

good relation with different medium and small enterprise who are using Fillip Technologies service. An

officer of ERM continuously supports the business customer at their need. The officers also have the

target of expanding the market. They also assist the customer about their bills payment; value added

services, international roaming etc.

Churns Recovery Unit (CRU):

Churn Recovery means reactivate the customers who discontinue the services for long period. In Fillip

Technologies Churns customers are those who discontinue its services for 3 months or more. Fillip

Technologies considers these churns customer can be recovered by proper treatment of their feedback.

In this purpose Churns recovery team contacts the churns customers for knowing the reason of

discontinuing the service

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PROCESS FLOWCHART

It is a standard Business Development process followed by the company and ask me to follow, it is

basic process followed by every startup company in order to approach a client initially. Sometimes they

may send teaser E-mailer of a similar domain to the clients before approaching them.

1. Market Analysis and Market Research

2. Database Creation of clients

4. Fixing meeting 3. Cold Calling

5. Proposal Making for Clients
6. Project Closure
PROCESS 1 – MARKET ANALYSIS AMD MARKET RESEARCH

Market research is any organized effort to gather information about target markets or customers. It is a

very important component of business strategy.

The first step of business development process is to know your target audience well before approaching

them. The main objective behind the market analysis and research of target audience is to know their

online presence and how active they are on web. Market research also helps to estimate the online

marketing opportunities of different sectors over the periods. The intense research is required while

studying the online habits of different sectors keeping competitors in mind.

The proper market research make your task easier while talking to clients as you know about them well

in advance, which help you to answer their question. And can better explain the clients how they can use

web as a medium of approaching the customers in a short span of time.

Market Research includes research about the different sectors. Currently we are targeting on Travel,

Real Estate Sector, Education sectors, Fitness, jeweler in Pune. It includes study of digital habits of the

target sector, their online presence, their online need, etc.

After market research comes the database creation.

PROCESS 2 – DATABASE CREATION OF CLIENTS

The second step is database creation; once the market is analyzed the database of sector is created for a

company treasure for future.

Database creation includes recording the details of the clients like company details, their online

presence, concerned person from marketing department and their contact details.

During my internship I have created almost six different sectors database as company wants to target

different sectors for exploring themselves.

PROCESS 3 – COLD CALLING

Cold calling is the sales process of approaching prospective customers or clients—typically via

telephone, by email or through making a connection on a social network—who were not expecting such

an interaction. The word "cold" is used because the person receiving the call is not expecting a call or

has not specifically asked to be contacted by a sales person. A cold call is usually the start of a sales

process generally known as telemarketing.

The next step is cold calling. It includes contacting the concerned person, explaining him/her in brief

about the organization, conveying that person how digital marketing is helpful for their organization to

achieve online presence, traffic, leads and branding.

My company guide shared a call script with me and also explained me how to talk, what to talk, the way

we should talk to concern person. He also explains how to get a concern person number (director or

marketing person) from the office people.

The main objective of cold calling is to fix the maximum meetings with a concern person so that further

points can be discussed in detail with them.

Cold calling is a first interaction with a concern person and everyone knows first impression is a last

impression. He taught me the way how first impression is made.

During my internship total numbers of calls made by me was 82, calls to real estate sector and fitness

sector.
PROCESS 4 – FIXING MEETINGS

The next step is fixing meeting, it stages little critical for a startup, convincing the clients and ask them

to meet you is biggest challenge , But that’s a feel of work. Talking to different people of different traits

was a good experience and successfully fixes the 8 meetings out of which 3 was attended by me and 1

was converted.

Actual meeting gave you the reality check where you are when your clients know everything, shoots the

too many questions and ask you how you are better than other. At that time, you understand the

difference between the dorm rooms to the boardroom.

PROCESS 5 – PROPOSAL MAKING

The fifth step is proposal making once meeting is done with a concern person where the various aspects

has been discussed already, and the client requirement can know accordingly the proposal is made for

them enlisting all his requirement related to digital marketing. Proposal includes following details:

a) Services needed by the client. These services include SEO, SEM, SMM, ODA, ORM, etc.

b) Proper segmentation and targeting according to sector. E.g. If an MBA Education Institute wants

digital marketing services for branding, promotion and lead generation, then our target market would be,

students who have completed their graduation and professionals with 2-3 years of experience who can

opt for Executive MBA.

c) Detailed explanation of how we will be providing them each service.

d) It also includes the pricing details of the services.

PROCESS 6 – PROJECT CLOSURE

The final stage is project closure; if all the stage works that means you are close to crack the deal. Once

the deal is cracked the further decision are taken like, preparing the strategies for the same as per the

client’s requirement or the digital marketing channels choose by him/her.

Company makes a roadmap or a weekly /monthly plan of each channel separately and get the approval

from the client to execute the plan and once it approved the plan actually come into an action.
DIGITAL MARKETING CHANNELS

The rapid growth of Digital Marketing Industry is a direct consequence of the global phenomenon that

is the Internet, and effectiveness of Digital Marketing channels in generating revenue and awareness.

Compared to traditional methods of advertising, Digital Marketing offers rather realistic costs

(particularly important for small- and medium-size businesses and start-ups), accurate targeting and

excellent reporting.
DIGITAL MARKETING CHANNELS

1. SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page

in a search engine's "natural" or un-paid ("organic") search results. SEO may target different kinds of

search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search, news search and industry-

specific vertical search engines.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the

actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by

their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content, HTML and associated

coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing

activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of back links, or inbound links,

social book marking, directory submission is another SEO tactic.

2. SEM (Search Engine Marketing)

Search engine marketing (SEM) is a form of Internet marketing that involves the promotion of

websites by increasing their visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs) through optimization and

advertising.] SEM may use search engine optimization (SEO), which adjusts or rewrites website content

to achieve a higher ranking in search engine results pages, or use pay per click listings.
3. SMM (Social Media Marketing)

Social media marketing is the process of gaining website traffic or attention through social media sites.

Social media marketing programs usually center on efforts to create content that attracts attention and

encourages readers to share it across their social networks. The resulting electronic word of mouth

(eWoM) refers to any statement consumers share via the Internet (e.g., web sites, social networks,

instant messages, news feeds) about an event, product, service, brand or company. When the underlying

message spreads from user to user and presumably resonates because it appears to come from a trusted,

third-party source, as opposed to the brand or company itself, this form of marketing results in earned

media rather than paid media.

Engagement

In the context of the social web, engagement means that customers and stakeholders are participants

rather than viewers. Social media in business allows anyone and everyone to express and share an

opinion or an idea somewhere along the business’s path to market. Each participating customer becomes

part of the marketing department, as other customers read their comments or reviews. The engagement

process is then fundamental to successful social media marketing.

Facebook Marketing

Facebook is the world's most popular social network for both businesses and individuals. With over one

billion users, your friends and fans are likely already using the platform -- and you should be too!

In fact, people are 51% more likely to make a purchase after "liking" a brand on Facebook. Face

book marketing requires a good intellects and unique thinking to make the campaign effective.

In face book marketing in fact in visual /web marketing your content speaks a loud that is why make

sure your content should be relevant to your audience and business.

Thumb rules:

 Emphasize on visualization. Rich visuals make the best content and the best timelines.

‘Highlight’ posts to give them the full width of the Face book container. To make it more attractive

 ‘PIN’ posts, these posts stay at the top of the feed promoting posts.

 Ensure FB apps have relevant info, your audience is looking for

 Analyze what works, and what doesn’t work: Face book Insight. Edge Rank. Social bakers
Twitter marketing (A game of 140 characters)

Twitter’s flexible, real-time platform allows you to get creative and drive results at the same

time. Whether you’re looking to drive sales, increase brand awareness or launch a product.

Twitter marketing is not much popular than face book but still it has an impact on audience

the very first thing in twitter marketing you need to understand and learn the twitter

terminologies well.

1. HASHTAG

A hashtag is any word beginning with the # sign. People use hashtags to organize

conversations around a specific topic. Clicking on a hashtag takes you to search results for

that term.

2. MENTION

Sometimes you want to bring a Tweet to someone’s attention, but you still want all of your

followers to see the message. So instead of a reply, use a mention. Include the @username

of whomever you want to mention in your Tweet, and it will appear in the Mentions section

(in the Connect tab). All @username mentions are clickable and link back to the mentioned

individual’s profile.

3. REPLY

You can respond to a Tweet by hitting the reply button. When you reply, your response is

public, and will show up in your home timeline and the timeline of the person to whom you

are responding. The reply will also be visible in the home timelines of people who follow

both you and the person to whom you sent

the reply. Meaning, someone not in the conversation has to follow both of the people

replying to be able to read both sides of the conversation.

4. RETWEET

You can pass along someone’s Tweet by retweeting it. Just hit the retweet button to send the

original message to all of your followers.

5. LINKS

Twitter’s link- shortening feature allows you to paste a link of any length into the Tweet box

and it will automatically be shortened to 19 characters. This makes it easier to fit long URLs

into the 140-character limit.

6. FAVOURITE

You can favorite the tweet for future reference. This is just like an archiving something

that’s really interesting to you.

7. DM (direct message)

You can send private messages to someone, just like an email. For DM, sender and receiver

should be following each other

Thumb rules:

 Remember, you just have 140 characters to play around. Compose your message

within 120 characters or less and leave atleast20 characters so that others can re-tweet (RT).

 Utilization of # hash tags Tweets with hash tags get twice the engagement of those

Create a list of #Hash tags relevant to your brand Build a campaign around those #Hash tags

and invite followers to re-tweet.

 Posts with images have double the engagement of those without even though users

can’t see them until they click on them. It creates an interest among the audience.
Linked in Marketing

LinkedIn is the world's largest social network for professionals. With over 161 million

registered users in more than 200 countries, more than two million companies have created

LinkedIn Company Pages to vie for their attention. If you are in B2B business this platform

is very useful for you to connect with companies’ directors and marketing person.

Pinterest

It is a visual discovery social network. It is a way of sharing images of anything, from

fashion to pets to pot plants. You can create your own online pinboards to suits any theme

and share to with likeminded people.

Pinterest completely revolves around the premise of being creative and visual. 70% users

are female and aged between 25 and 44. So if you are targeting women Pinterest is the right

platform. Pinterest is now one of the top 10 social networking sites tracked by Hit wise.

How brands can use Pinterest

Pinterest does not encourage product pushing, this means brands must look at crating boards

that are culture and lifestyle related. You can create boards on trends, behind the scenes,

preliminary sketches for products etc.

Instagram

Instagram, the new revolutionary photo-sharing program, making it easier than ever to share

your best pictures with the world. The social media program allows you to upload, add

digital filters, and then post your pictures on your Instagram-feed, as well as other social

networking sites. You can connect your Instagram account with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr,

Flickr, Foursquare and your email account.

Google +

Google has described Google+ as a "social layer" that enhances many of its online

properties, and that it is not simply a social networking website, but also an authorship tool

that associates web-content directly with its owner/author. It is the second-largest social

networking site in the world after Facebook. 540 million monthly active users are part of the

Identity service site, by interacting socially with Google’s enhanced properties, like Gmail,

+1 button, and YouTube comments. In October 2013, Google counted 540 million active

users who used at least one Google+ service, of which 300 million users are active in "the

stream"

\
Why digital marketing is important:

Digital media is so pervasive that consumers have access to information any time

place they want it. Gone are the days when the messages people got about your products services

came from you and consisted of only what you wanted them to know. Digital media is an ever-

growing source of entertainment, news, shopping and social interaction, and consumers are now

exposed not just to what your company says about your brand, but what the media, friends,

relatives, peers, etc., are saying as well. And they are more likely to believe them than you. People

want brands they can trust, companies that know them, communications that are personalized and

relevant, and offers tailored to their needs and preferences. There’s no denying it, the world is

rapidly shifting from analogue to digital.

People are consuming more and more digital content on a daily basis – on mobile phones,

laptops, desktop computers at work, and more – and companies that have not yet recognized this

in their plans and strategies need to adapt fast.

The facts are that digital methods of communication and marketing are faster, more versatile,

practical and streamlined, so it is perhaps unsurprising that once the technology became

available, we began quickly moving into the digital age. The good news is that digital offers just as

much potential to marketers as it does to consumers.

The Reality is, people spend twice as much time online as they used to 12 years ago. And while we

say it a lot, the way people shop and buy really has changed, meaning offline marketing isn’t as

effective as it used to be
BENEFITS OF DIGITAL MARKETING IN PRESENT

BUSINESS

 Global reach - A website allows you to find new markets and trade globally for only

a small investment.

 Lower cost - a properly planned and effectively targeted digital marketing campaign

can reach the right customers at a much lower cost than traditional marketing methods.

 Track able, measurable results: Measuring your social media with web analytics

and other online metric tools makes it easier to establish how effective your campaign has

been. You can obtain detailed information about how customers use your website or respond

to your advertising. Web analytics can be set up to show you exactly how much money you

make from each digital tactic.

 Personalisation - if your customer database is linked to your website, then whenever

someone visits the site, you can greet them with targeted offers. The more they buy from

you, the more you can refine your customer profile and market effectively to them.

 Openness - by getting involved with social media and managing it carefully, you can

build customer loyalty and create a reputation for being easy to engage with.

 Social currency - digital marketing lets you create engaging campaigns using

different types of rich media content. On the internet these campaigns can gain social

currency - being passed from user to user and becoming viral.

Primary Finding and Data Analysis

While undergoing the internship at Fillip Technologies Solutions,

Following were the activities which were performed by me:

1. Generating Leads

2. Assisting in Making Business Strategies and Marketing Plans

3. Scheduling meeting with prospective clients

4. Promoting the services and offerings of the Fillip Technologies Solutions with the help of

all the possible media

5. Content Creation for various social media sites

6. Social media marketing

7. Website creation and development

8. Ad and promotional campaigns and awareness generation for Fillip Technologies

Generating Leads

In marketing, lead generation is the generation of consumer interest or inquiry into products

or services of a business. Leads can be created for purposes such as list building, e-

newsletter list acquisition or for sales leads

Lead Generation

Capture qualified sales leads through high quality content and targeted:

 Inbound marketing—blogging, guest blogging, blogger outreach, blog syndication, social

media updates, social media engagement, SEO on-page optimization, premium content (eBooks,

info graphics, videos, webinars), calls-to-action, landing pages

 Demand generation—paid search (ppc), social media ads, banner ads, native ads, email

marketing, direct mail, print ads, media ads, tradeshows, speaking engagements, personal

networking

Lead Intelligence Gathering

Marketing works with Sales to establish key criteria for lead segmentation and scoring.

Hopefully, you have already created a comprehensive list of buyer personas and a detailed

buyer journey for each persona. If not, check out these resources. Now plan how you will

capture this information through landing pages and forms, using a progressive profiling

approach so that conversion rates are kept high. Identify relevant pages and events that, if

visited or triggered, also allow you to update lead profiles during the buyer journey. Access

LinkedIn, Data.com, Hoovers and other business data sites you can use to cross-reference

leads and further develop their profiles. Some of these sources can be directly integrated

through Hub Spot and Sales force apps and APIs.

Lead Segmentation

Set up marketing automation workflows to categorize leads and segment them into lists

using criteria established in Step #1. Use these lists to nurture leads with relevant content

and personalized email communications. Also use them for targeted campaigns, segmenting

leads with a certain role or title or within a certain industry or market segment.

Lead Scoring

Set up lead scoring criteria and points-awarded system to update lead lifecycle stages, move

leads to the CRM when the timing is right and trigger notifications using marketing

automation workflows.

Leads accumulate positive scores for behavior and demographics. For example:

Persona—industry, title, role, company size, revenues

Engagement—number of visits, unique page views, repeat visits, form conversions, email

opens and clicks, blog comments, social media mentions, inbound links

Buyer stage—clicks and conversions on specific content indicating a lead lifecycle

change, such as mid-funnel and bottom-funnel offers

Velocity—frequency of engagement, volume and timing of events indicating an imminent

intent to buy Also, apply negative scoring for form answers or behaviors that designate a

lead as a poor fit, for example: Competitor Company, low budget or non-company email

address.
Lead Nurturing

Monitor and influence the progress of leads through the sales funnel by presenting them

with relevant content based on buyer persona and content mapping. Content can be sent via

personalized drip email campaigns or by direct integration using personalized content, for

example website messaging that is tailored for lead segments or buyer personas. Apply lead

scoring rules as leads consume your lead nurturing content and move them to different

lifecycle stages and segments using marketing automation workflows.

Transfer and Assign Leads to the Sales Team

Automatically move inbound leads over to your CRM using marketing automation

workflows and assign them to appropriate sales reps when they reach lead scoring

thresholds and/or trigger specific behaviors', such as requesting a free trial or demonstration.
Assisted in Developing Business Strategies and Marketing Plan

marketing plan may be part of an overall business plan. Solid marketing strategy is the

foundation of a well-written marketing plan. While a marketing plan contains a list of

actions, a marketing plan without a sound strategic foundation is of little use.

Developing a Promotional Strategies

Deciding on a marketing communications strategy is one of the primary roles of the

marketing manager and this process involves some key decisions about who the customer is,

how to contact them, and what the message should be. These questions can be answered

using a three-stage process, which is equally relevant for all elements of the marketing mix:

Segmentation:

Dividing the marketing into distinct groups

Targeting:

Deciding which of these groups to communicate with, and how to talk to them

Positioning:

How the product or brand should be perceived by the target groups

Messaging:

Delivering a specific message in order to influence the target groups

Content creation

Content creation is the contribution of information to any media and most especially to

digital media for an end-user/audience in specific contexts. Content is "something that is to

be expressed through some medium, as speech, writing or any of various arts" for self-

expression, distribution, marketing and/or publication. Typical forms of content creation

include maintaining and updating web sites, blogging, photography, Videography, online

commentary, the maintenance of social media accounts, and editing and distribution of

digital media. A Pew survey described content creation as the creation of "the material

people contribute to the online world.

Competitive Environment Of Fillip Technologies

Competitive Markets for Web Design, Development and Testing

• It does depend on the client; many are willing to pay much less for a ‘newbie’ who has a

ripped copy of Photoshop and Dreamweaver and still uses tables and 'slice and dice'

methods. This is thanks to how simple it is to become a "web designer".

• The 'web design profession' has a wider problem, the lack of professionalism and

standards. The people who are more successful (in the small pond end of the market) aren't

web designers primarily, they are salesmen first and this is what is lacking from many

decent designer’s skill sets.

ON THE OTHER END:

• More designers in the work place is nothing but a healthy thing. It drives us all to make a

better product and surely that's what we’re all here to do?

• Imagine if AMD was never born - We'd probably all still be using Intel P2 333 MHz’s

with Intel saying "It's the greatest processor ever made". With more competition in the

marketplace everyone's looking for the next big thing. That's why services like Dig and

WordPress have come along.

Web Design, Development and Testing at Fillip Technologies

• You can select from a range of web hosting packages. We are affiliated with

BigRock.com. We are able to provide up to 25% discounts on their original rates (which are

quite competitive themselves).

• In today's competitive age, the business houses and professionals should regularly update

their websites

• This gives them a competitive edge. At Fillip Technologies, we provide our clients with

website support services.

Competitive Market for Fillip Technologies

"Organizing carpooling services for large companies has helped boost our user base,' said

Vipul Kasera, 30, founder of Commute Easy, a Bangalore-based company that has about

35,000 users from companies, including Mindtree, Dr Reddy's and Tosco, that pay an

annual subscription fee for the service.

Kasera, who first launched the idea in 2006, said positioning of Commute Easy as a

corporate service has helped gain user acceptance. More entrepreneurs are seeing this as a

growing business segment.

Bangalore with a population of about 9 million has an estimated 9.3 lakh cars on its roads.

"We believe this offers a potential to have about 30,000 cars pooling rides every working

day," said Raghu Ramanujam, 43, founder of Pool Circle, who is in talks with 11 companies

to offer his services.

The company aims to have 2.5 lakh users by the end of next year by spreading services

across Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, NCR, Pune and Ahmedabad. Companies who opt for

carpooling service can choose from various subscription models ranging from Rs 40,000 to

Rs 10 lakh annually.

• Experts said positioning these services as a corporate service rather than as a direct-to

consumer offering has helped these start-ups gain a larger number of users.

• "With every city struggling with infrastructure issues, people are moving away from the

concept of owning an asset to renting and sharing it with others," said Rajesh Sawhney,

founder of GSF Accelerator, an early-stage investment firm. Sawhney, who has invested in

carpooling start-up RidingO, said government support by way incentives for carpooling,

dedicated lanes and higher taxes for single-use cars will help grow this segment faster.

• RidingO, set up in 2012 has already built up a user base of 2,500 and is in talks with oil
companies to get them to redeem points, earned by drivers who carpool, for fuel said its

founder Vardhan Koshal, 30.

• The year-old company aims to register at least 500 registered daily users for its service

from a single suburb in Bangalore.

• Pool Circle, which was started in July 2013, is testing mobile apps for both Apple and

Android phones.

Micro Environmental Situation of Fillip Technologies

• The micro environment refers to the business itself and to all the challenges that come

from inside the business.

• Businesses can therefore take control over all the challenges and influences in the micro

environment.

• The micro environment refers to the forces that are close to the company and affect its

ability to serve its customers. It includes the company itself, its suppliers, marketing

intermediaries, customer markets and public.

Forecasting Demand Of IT Services

2014 2015 2016 2017 2018

The real value of IT is its deep understanding of the business and enabling business partners

by providing them with cost effective technology solutions that can be delivered quickly and

adjusted frequently. Building and managing commodity technologies adds time and costs to

each project and ties up precious IT resources on tasks that add little to no value to the

business. No wonder IT is often considered a cost center! My advice is to take a step back

and build a business architecture diagram that lays out the core business services that your

company offers. Then draw up a reference architecture that depicts all of the different IT

services that are required to support those business services. Then,

identify which of those IT services are core to your business and build those. Everything

else should be outsourced to managed service providers or to various external services and

products.

Need of Marketing Strategies and Planning for Fillip Technologies

Without marketing, no one will know our business exists, and if customers don't know we're

there, we won't make any sales.

When our marketing efforts are working, however, and customers are streaming through the

door, an effective customer service policy will keep them coming back for more. So now it's

time to create the plans that will draw customers to our business again and again.

A marketing plan consists of the strategies and devices we're going to use to communicate

to our target audience. A customer service plan focuses on our customer's requirements and

the ways of filling those requirements.

Descriptions of our market and its segments, the competition and prospective customers

should be in our business plan. This is the start of our marketing plan.

Based on this information, we can begin choosing the communication channels to use to get

the word out about our business: social media, blogs, email newsletters, Web banners, pay-

per-click ads, radio, TV, billboards, direct mail, fliers, print ads and other venues. Then

prioritize our tactics and begin with the ones that our research has shown to be the most

effective for our audience.

It's helpful to create a profile of the end user of our product or service. Now's the time for

telling everyone we know about it. Ask for referrals from colleagues, suppliers, former

employers and other associates. We can improve the quality of our referrals by being

specific in our request.

Consider offering free consultations or an introductory price to first-time buyers. Consider

joining forces with a complementary business to get them to help we spread the word about

our new venture. Most people think that “marketing” just means advertising, PR or

promotion. But marketing and a marketing plan is so much more than that, and includes

everything from understanding the market to which we’ll sell Fillip Technologies products

and services, to choosing specific tactics we’ll use to reach that

market.

2-Bargaining power of Suppliers:

Max procures most of its stock from its in-house manufacturing division i.e., Lifestyle India

Pvt Ltd.

All the items are manufactured by themselves except some of the apparels by domestic

manufacturers in Delhi and South India and footwear which are imported from China where

they have several authorized vendors. In this area of procurement, they can negotiate the

rates from the supplier.

Thus, the bargaining power of supplier is low in the case of Fillip Technologies.

3-Bargaining power of the Buyer:

Buyer or the customer in the case of Fillip Technologies does not possess any bargaining

power because the pricing is fixed for each and every customer.

The discounts are given to the customers only after the promo note is been circulated by the

regional office which contains all the details of a particular promotional offer.
4-Threat of Substitutes:

Fillip Technologies is known for its Value pricing concept i.e., best services at an affordable

price thus it has a specific target audience and many loyal customers as well It has a very

effective loyalty program scheme which helps in developing a long-term relationship with

the customers.

Some of the retailers that are a concern for the company are Globus Mart, Big Bazaar

5-Competitive Rivalry:  This

looks at the number and strength of your competitors. How many rivals do you

have? Who are they, and how does the quality of their products and services

compare with yours?

Where rivalry is intense, companies can attract customers with aggressive price

cuts and high-impact marketing campaigns. Also, in markets with lots of

rivals, your suppliers and buyers can go elsewhere if they feel that they're not

getting a good deal from you.

On the other hand, where competitive rivalry is minimal, and no one else is

doing what you do, then you'll likely have tremendous strength and healthy

profits.
Why Digital Marketing Is Important

Digital media is so pervasive that consumers have access to information any time and any

place they want it. Gone are the days when the messages people got about your products or

services came from you and consisted of only what you wanted them to know. Digital media

is an ever-growing source of entertainment, news, shopping and social interaction, and

consumers are now exposed not just to what your company says about your brand, but what

the media, friends, relatives, peers, etc., are saying as well. And they are more likely to

believe them than you. People want brands they can trust, companies that know them,

communications that are personalized and relevant, and offers tailored to their needs and

preferences.
You need to incorporate befitting Digital Marketing Strategy in your business module in an

attempt to be an active part of the exceptionally pervasive and equally lucrative online

market place.

Since DM is not just a quickly developing power in today’s world of marketing, it is set to

be the eventual fate of marketing. One of the benefits of Digital Marketing is that it seems

that soon digital marketing will surpass all the traditional marketing maneuvers.

We all are aware that the world is quickly moving from traditional to digital way of

functioning. People are aware of the role of Digital Marketing & prefer to consume digital

content, and businesses that have not yet perceived DM in their advertising systems need to

habituate ASAP.

Digital modes of communication and marketing are more adaptable, quicker, quantifiable

and result-driven. Benefits of Digital Marketing are applicable to both marketers as well as

the customers. Let us delve into the reasons why digital marketing is important for your

business–
8 Reasons why Digital Marketing is Important

Limitation of Study

Despite of my highest effort the internship is not free from limitations. Some of those
limitations are mentioned as follows:
 One of the major limitations faced while conducting the study was to communicate
with the selected customers and officials of Fillip Technologies because they were very
busy with their regular jobs.

 Respondent’s unavailability.

 Difficult to excess some information because of company policies.

2 months is a short time to make the report incorporate with the internship task. So, I faced
time limitation and unable to give enough time to make my report. A longer time period
would have ensured a much better result for the study findings.
PROBLEM IN INDUSTRY

A) Workload

Both IT staff and decision-makers are overwhelmed with work demands. It’s sort of a

chicken and egg scenario—decision-makers are using increasing workloads as an excuse not

to authorize training, and staff are struggling to complete assignments because they lack the

proper skills. Either way, time that was previously designated toward skills development is

now being used to catch up on an increasing backlog of work.

B) Cybersecurity

The cybersecurity challenge is two-fold:

1. Cyber-attacks are growing in size and sophistication

2. Millions of cybersecurity jobs remain unfilled

Organizations cannot take IT security lightly. An analysis of worldwide identity and access

management by the International Data Corporation (IDC) revealed that 55% of consumers

would switch platforms or providers due to the threat of a data breach, and 78% would

switch if a breach impacted them directly.1 Customers aren’t willing to put their data at risk.

C) Skills gaps

Over 80% of North American IT departments have skills gaps. Globally, IT skills gaps have

increased by 155% in three years. They can no longer be ignored, especially as a lack of

necessary skills can be credited for increased employee stress, development and deployment

delays, and increased operating costs.

According to IT decision-makers, skills gaps will cost employers up to 416 hours and over

$22,000 per employee, per year. You would think those numbers would motivate

organizations to increase skill development opportunities for employees, but that isn’t
always the case. Less than 60% of decisionmakers say their organizations offer formal

training for technical employees, down one percent from the previous year. This tells us that

organizations aren’t serious enough about skill development.

D) Digital transformation Digital transformation is latest disrupter. It has led to

technology no longer providing a sustained competitive advantage. It now plays a

supporting role to people with the right skills. Expertise is needed now more than ever to

manage and implement all of the new technologies.

But it’s not that simple. As discussed above, IT departments are suffering from gaps in

critical skills areas such as cybersecurity, cloud computing and Davos. Even IT

professionals who are offered professional development opportunities are struggling to keep

up. The rate of technological change is outpacing training

E) Cloud computing Loud is the top investment area worldwide for IT departments.

Organizations require an infusion of cloud skills to match their monetary investment in

cloud platforms. Much like cybersecurity, cloud professionals are in high demand and short

supply. According to IT decision-makers, cloud computing is the second most challenging

hiring area in the world.

The opportunities of cloud computing are impossible to ignore. Cloud is the ultimate

enabler, opening new channels of revenue by leveraging technologies like artificial

intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (Iota). But professionals are needed to capitalize

on this technology, and currently, there aren’t enough of them.

Recommendations & Suggestions

As Fillip Technologies Services is one of the reputed companies in India, there are very

little to recommend about their products and services. Fillip Technologies Services has good

quality services and their price is also very low. If they do some attention to their network

system, I think they can get more customers. Another thing is most of the customer get

information about it from TV ad; they should give more billboard ad because billboard is

now a popular media part. Some recommendations given below

 Should make strong their network system

 Callers should have more convening power.

 Should more careful about customers privacy

 Deposit money should be low

 Should give any special gift to their high users.
