 Understanding Between User & Functional Issues

Lab Tasks:

Task:

1. Create a wireframe for the Website given below using Microsoft

Visio. https://www.bbc.com/
2. Identify a minimum of 4 problems in a given UI and create a wireframe to solve these
problems.
Following are some problems:

 Don’t show us live news.

 Ultimate scrolling interface.
 Menus have not sub menus option.
 Section on Frontpage

3. Export these wireframes to Image and create a document containing the following

a. Why do you think it’s a problem, and how it affects the user?

 The Website does not have a sub-menu; if the Website has a sub-menu, it will
help the user to find its interests
 The Website does not have a Live news system. If the BBC provides this, the
user can watch news live from the BBC website; he/she not have to use a
separate platform to watch the news

 The Website has Ultimate scrolling interface and not have a proper section

b. How do you think the proposed solution would help to fix the issue?

Some interface changes like introduce sub-menus will solve many problems. After
that, if some new features like live new and some other things are introduced the
Website to become more efficient and convenient to use.

c. Find at least 2 similar website which have solved the issue. Also explain which
solution is betters your or theirs.
4. Usability experts agree that usability testing includes the following five components:
a. Learnability: How easy is it for users to accomplish necessary tasks the first
time they encounter the design?

The Website is so complicated in the first user cannot even know what it is used
for? That is why I am giving it 2 marks out of 5.

b. Efficiency: How fast can experienced users accomplish tasks?

As we see that the Website is so complex so the efficiency cannot be achieved,

 users need time to process how the Website is work. I am giving 1 mark out of 5 on
efficiency.

c. Memorability: When users return to the design after a period of not using it,
does the user remember enough to use it effectively the next time, or does the
user have to start over again learning everything?

The Website has quite an intricate design to understand, so according to

memorability, it’s not that good am giving it 1 out of 5 on memorability

d. Errors: How many errors do users make, how severe are these errors, and how
easily can they recover from the errors?

The Website itself doesn’t have any error but as for user, its interface is so
confusing, making it complex to understand, and so from my side, I don’t see
any error so 3 out of 5 on errors.

e. Satisfaction: How much does the user like using the system?

The Website as per my aspect does not bring any satisfaction to the user. I think a
user will another rather than https://chandigarh.craigslist.org/ due to all these
issues and many more it doesn’t satisfy the user on any level. For this, I will give
the Website 0 out of 5 marks.
