Anxiety Disorder

Anxiety is an illness that is a specific psychiatric disorder that involve extreme fear
or worry, and includes generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder and panic
attacks, agoraphobia, social anxiety disorder, selective mutism, separation anxiety, and
specific phobias. One Fact about Anxiety Disorder is that Anxiety disorders are the most
common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults in the United States age 18
and older, or 18.1% of the population every year. Anxiety disorders are highly treatable,
yet only 36.9% of those suffering receive treatment. People are at risk are Children who
endured abuse or trauma or witnessed traumatic events are at higher risk of developing
an anxiety disorder at some point in life. Adults who experience a traumatic event also can
develop anxiety disorders. Stress due to an illness.

Illness anxiety disorder, sometimes called hypochondriasis or health anxiety, is


worrying excessively that you are or may become seriously ill. You may have no
physical symptoms. To diagnose an anxiety disorder, a doctor performs a physical exam,
asks about your symptoms, and recommends a blood test, which helps the doctor
determine if another condition, such as hypothyroidism, may be causing your symptoms.

 You seem less alert.


 Your symptoms fluctuate a lot.
 You have experienced disorientation or memory loss.
 You have recently changed medications.
 Your physical exam or vital signs are suddenly abnormal.
 You cannot provide a clear history of your condition.
 Anxiety surfaces later in life (anxiety disorders usually begin in
childhood or early adulthood)
 You have multiple medical conditions.
Anxiety disorders can cause rapid heart rate, palpitations, and chest pain. You may also be
at an increased risk of high blood pressure and heart disease. If you already have
heart disease, anxiety disorders may raise the risk of coronary events.

Treatment for illness anxiety disorder usually starts with psychotherapy, but medications


may be prescribed if you have severe symptoms or another mental health condition. Anxiety
disorders cannot be prevented; however, there are some things you can do to control or
decrease symptoms: Stop or reduce your consumption of products that contain caffeine, such as
coffee, tea, cola and chocolate. Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any over-the-counter
medicines or herbal remedies.

I feel Anxiety is a problem and, I really feel that the number of the Anxiety is rising and, the
treatment is really needing to come in hand. I feel that you try to prevent Anxiety the numbers will
go down.
