Many holidays are held in our country, and one of my favorites is Shrovetide.

This holiday is associated

with the meeting of spring, is celebrated on March 1, and lasts for the week.

The Shrovetide has several traditions: one of them is the burning of straw scarecrow. This tradition was
even when paganism was the main religion in Russia. After the scarecrow is burned, people start having
fun and competitions. At the end, they gather at the same table and eat pancakes - the symbol of
Shrovetide. This dish is always prepared for this holiday with a variety of fillings.

This holiday is not celebrated anywhere else in the world, so if you were lucky enough to see and
participate Shrovetide - you saw the special and unique holiday.
