We are going to talk about the mystery novel called Murder at the

vicarage, initially the story is narrated by Clement Leonard the vicar, and
he is married to Griselda, a woman 20 years younger. In the first few
chapters, Leonard describes each characters in a little town called “St
Mary Mead”
In the story there appears a character named Colonel Lucius Protheroe, a
rich and active man in the church, however he is the most hated by all
characters. Prothoroe is married to Anne Prothoroe and also he has a
daughter named Lettice. One day the colonel is killed by a shot in the
head in the vicar's study, however Clement Leonard was not there, he
had gone to a house two miles away but upon arrival he discovers that he
had not been summoned and for that reason, he arrives late to the
meeting with Protheroe which was scheduled for a quarter past six, on his
way back, he had met Lawrence Redding who is a young painter who is
in love with Anne Prothoroe.
