Cut out the template above.

Glue the four middle squares on the paper. Cut on the dotted lines and then fold the far left
and right columns over so they cover the two middle columns.

1. Make sure the students know that each “flat” equals one.
2. Have them color in 3/10 and 3/100 on two different flats. Glue the 3/10 flat on the top
left tab, and the 3/100 on the top right tab.
3. Have your students open up the tabs and follow the instructions.
4. Have the students color in 5/100 and 5/10. Glue the 5/100 flat on the bottom left tab,
and the 5/10 on the bottom right tab.
5. Follow the directions on the inside. The students will need to cut out 5/100 ten times,
and glue them in. They need to visualize that there are 10 five hundredths.
