SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Make sure the unit is off line (disconnected from utility and/or other generators) locked and tagged: “Do not operate”.
Do not wear loose clothing when working in the proximity of rotating machinery.

Description:

Opened the inspection covers and checked all the Backlash of gears and found them within limits
and also checked the bearing clearance and found ok as shown in pictures below.

One of the brake cylinder was leaking so dismantled the cylinder from draw works and opened it
replaced the seal and fitted back onto the DW and also adjusted the Brake clearance from 1/16 to
3/32 inch as shown below.

Also drained all the old gear oil cleaned the sump and the lines with compressed air and again with
fresh gear oil and changed the oil filters with new ones, also cleaned the oil heat exchanger pictures
are as below.
