Dismantling
WARNING
Danger of burns. Wear protective gloves.
1. Remove the roller bearing using Kukko 20-20. Using a cold chisel, tap out the larger bearing from the shoulder so
that the puller can be fitted.
NOTE!
If the bearings are to be changed, the bearing's roller cage can be ground away and the inner race shock heated so
that it can be removed.

2. Undo the differential housing socket cap screws. Use a suitable counterhold.

4. Remove the thrust bearing washer from the differential housing half.
NOTE!
Use a brass drift.

9. Remove the thrust washers, small differential side gears, spacer rings and needle bearings from the differential
spider.
NOTE!
The needle bearings are loose.

Assembling
10. Clean and inspect the parts and change any that are damaged or worn.
NOTE!
The small differential side gears are classed in sets of four gears and should all be changed at the same time.
11. Lightly oil the parts before assembling them. The needle bearings for the differential spider may be greased to
make their assembly easier.
12. Fit the spacer ring and differential side gear on the spider.

20. Tap the thrust bearing washer, bevel facing down, in the other differential housing half. Use handle 11 667 001 and
plate 11 667 115.

23. Heat the bearings to about 100 degrees and fit the bearing.
