1) Place PVC material in hot press machine at 177°C for 10 minutes.
2) After 10 minutes of hot pressing turn of the heating and allow the sample to cool down for at least 1 hour. 3) Remove the sample from the hot press machine and punch out 3 dumb-bell samples. 4) Mark 25mm on the dumb-bell samples and the cross-sectional area of each dumb-bell are recorded. 5) Fix the dumb-bell samples to the tensile strength and elongation tester and run the test. 6) The maximum force withstand by the dumb-bell samples are recorded down for the tensile strength calculation. 7) The percentage of elongation of the dumb-bell are also measured and recorded down.
