QUIZ #1 (WEEK 3)

ASEAN LITERATURE
SEPTEMBER 7, 2020

DIRECTION: Complete the poem below based on your experience of any catastrophe or
phenomenon.

POEM #1

If sometimes I fall asleep in a lecture

Or shout and scream as if alone.
Please forgive me, please don’t be angry
For I have no place to play.
I’m growing up, I want to be a successful man;
I’m wishing for a giant arena, where all dreams would fit.
I feel like yelling my life is beginning
Every minute I want to hold tight to my dreams.
But the fears have shriveled my joys
At every step I see uncertainty
At every word, I hear the negativity
Not believing, not understanding, I only stare.
The suffering goes on and on,
When will it end because I’m all strained and tired.
People always come and go
Some of my friends have vanished.
No one knew, no one cared, they were just memories, and that’s all.
My home is where I truly belong, where I’m not lost, and where I can be myself.
The way back is dark and catastrophic, I don’t what repeat the same mistake again.

DIRECTION: The poem is a cliffhanger. What happens next is left to the reader to finish.
With a group,
write the third stanza for this. A sample start maybe I stopped for a while and thought about
it or I had orders to follow .

POEM #2

I stopped for a while and thought about it

Questioning what my purpose was.
Is it something I should search for or
I had orders to follow so that I could understand.
Does he even exist?
Because If not, then I’ll do it my way.
