INTERVIEW FOR GLOBAL VOLUNTEER

Interviewer : A
Interviewee : B
A : “Good morning. How’s your day?”
B : “Good morning, sir. I have a nice day, the sun is shining bright outside.”
A : “Glad to hear that! So you’ve applied for Global Volunteer called “Summer Exchange” that
will be held in June, right?”
B : “Yes, I have sir.”
A : “Okay. My name is Bambang Pamungkas and I’m here as an interviewer for you. This
interview will take about 30 minutes so please make sure you’re relax. Well, I think you could
introduce yourself first.”
B : “My name is Puan Kelana, and people usually call me Puan. I was born in Jakarta, February
14th 1999. But I’m raised and lived in Denpasar since 1 years old. Currently I’m a student of
Law Faculty in Universitas Gajah Mada.”
A : “So you’re 20 years old by 2019, right? Okay Puan, I want to know more about you. Tell me
what’s your SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat).”
B : “Yes, I’m 20 years old. My strenght is I’m 100% sure I have a big spirit to achieve my
dreams, I will survive through anything even it’s hard and I won’t stop until I achieve it. But
somehow, I’m not good at managing time so there was time when all my schedules are crashed.
My opportunity is I have free time for the next holiday in June, and I think it’s a right choice to
join this global volunteer. But however, the threat is other applicants whose more talented from
me.”
A : “You’re such a hardworker, Puan! I love to see how passionate you are. But could you tell me
why do you want to join this Summer Exchange?”
B : “I would like to have an experience where my skills can help those who need it. I want to be
pulled out of the bubble that my life has become, and understand what it takes to sacrifice
others. In a simple way, let me say that I want to get out of my comfort zone.”
A : “We have 3 countries to go. There are Thailand, India, and Korea. Which country you really
want to go? Tell me the reason, Puan. ”
B : “I would like to choose India as my destination for this Global Volunteering. As we know
Indie has a large number of people there, and not all of them are financially stable. I want to
teach kids in slum schools, help poor woman to learn basic English, and spreading good vibes
around.”
A : “What will you do if you’re chosen as candidate for doing global volunteering, and in the
other side what will you do if you failed this test?”
B : “If I pass this test, I will give my best through global volunteering time. And if I failed, I have
to deal with my failure and keep my spirit and never give up.”
A : “ I think that’s enough for this interview. I wish you the best of luck, Puan.”
B : “Thank you so much, sir.”
