Feedback on Teacher Roselyn.

K Trial Lesson 03: Shopping (Learn 7 & Talk 1)

1. How did she greet the student?

 The moment when the teacher entered the room, she immediately greeted the
student “Hello”.
 She asked some questions about where the student lived and some questions
that built their good rapport. She asked the student, too, why she took English
class.

2. How is her TPR?


 Used TPR even if the student is adult.

3. How did she use Manycam/props?


 Used the whiteboard feature of A-Classroom to expound the things she was
explaining.
 Not using ManyCam
 Used real photos and put it on the whiteboard feature.
 Tutor made different sounds to teach (she changed her voice).

4. When student didn’t know how to say the word? How did she do?
 Used translations to make learning easier.
 Used phonetic re-spelling too, like: aisle [ ayl ]; as well as words with the
same articulation style: aisle and island, you will not enunciate the sound of
the letter ‘s’. This method will promote awareness and better learning.
 Made some diagrams using the whiteboard feature of A-Classroom to help
the student undertand easier and better.

5. How did she check student's understanding?


 Knowledge extension: used synonyms and other related words, cite some
examples and relate it to real life situations.
 Reminded the student not to forget the meaning.
 Elaborated the concept by citing real life experience.

6. What’s the difference between your class and her class?


 I am using MamyCam and other digital stuffs to make the classroom more
engaging. I almost use the same thing but I guess I need to do more on my
TPRs.
ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK: Student is a working adult. She needs to improve her English speaking
skills to get promotion. Appreciated the students and gave solutions to the student. She encouraged
the student as well.
