Feedback on Teacher Nick Trial Lesson 01: Fruits (K1)

1. How did he greet the student?

 Teacher Nick used a personalized PowerPoint Presentation to welcome the


Student in the class (with Chinese translations).

 Teacher immediatley welcomed the student the moment student entered the
room with a warmth smile and a wave.

 Waited patiently the student.


2. How is his TPR?
 Used TPR abundantly. That is really cool and can help students to undertand
better.

3. How did she use Manycam/props?


 Tutor was using ManyCam.
 Tutor used minimal effects in ManyCam.

 Used digital props and rewards. This is good in motivating the student.
4. When student didn’t know how to say the word? How did he do?
 Used the paint brush feature of the ClasIn to point or mark the object/s.

 Used songs to enhance and speed up learning. This is really good especially
for auditory learners.

5. How did he check student's understanding?

 Used ICQ (Instruction-Checking Questions) and CCQ (Concept-Checking


Questions). He asked questions checked if the student knows the answer.
 Expressed gestures of affirming students understanding.

 Praised and rewarded the student. Gave digital certificates, too

6. What’s the difference between your class and her class?


 I am using ManyCam and other digital stuffs to make the classroom more
engaging. I use music too and TPR’s but I guess I need to do more on my
TPRs and ManyCam, make it simple but productive. Same feeedback with
the previous teacher, however I got some idea the way he used the
certificate (digital).
ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK: Teacher is a native speaker. He has no problem when it comes to
pronunciation and accent. This is a great advantage of being a native speaker. Teacher Nick also
gave recommendations that could help the student in her English endeavours.
