LESSON 5:
PRE-TEST
RHR: Pulse: 16 beats in 10 seconds X 6 = 96 bpm

CHECK YOUR UNDERSTANDING

MHR: 207- (0.7 x 17) = 195.1 bpm
RHR: 96 bpm
HRR: 195.1 – 96 = 99.1 bpm
% TRAINING INTENSITY (TI) Cardio-Respiratory Training Zone
TI = HRR x % + RHR
30 (99.1 x .30) + 96 = 125.73 bpm Light Intensity (126 bpm)
40 (99.1 x .40) + 96 = 135.64 bpm Moderate Intensity (146 bpm)
50 (99.1 x .50) + 96 = 145.55 bpm Vigorous Intensity (165 bpm)
60 (99.1 x .60) + 96 = 155.46 bpm
70 (99.1 x .70) + 96 = 165.37 bpm

POST-TEST
1. Based from the result of the activity above, it reveals that my fitness level is normal.
2. My heart rate falls in moderate intensity since it did not exceed my maximum heart
rate.
3. Knowing your target heart rate will help to pace your workouts, to improve cardio-
respiratory endurance and to know if your physical activity is suitable for your body.
