What form of production do you intend on producing? (short film, music video, stop motion
animation, documentary)
I want to create a horror short film. Since I have never really created anything that is solely horror I
wanted to give it a go. So far I only have a few rough ideas for what I want to create, but I am
interested to explore this new genre.

Based on the performances in your previous units, what areas do you need to improve on this time
round?
This time I need to improve upon my pre-production, ensuring that I research thoroughly and use
what I learn effectively in my production. As I haven’t got much experience creating horror it is
especially important that I investigate the tropes and tricks when creating one. I also need to ensure
that I utilise what I have learned in previous units. For instance, our last unit was about creating an
entire production using only sound, so now I want to ensure I pay closer attention to the sound in my
production.

Why have you chosen this production? What visual based skills do you feel it will help you to
develop?
I have never made anything that is a horror. Some of my projects have had horror elements, but I
always like doing comedy. So, this will be an interesting challenge for me to make an entirely horror
production. I think that with this genre there will be a lot of opportunities to explore new techniques
and

Will you be working individually or as part of a 2 person team? Why have you chosen this?
Part of the reason I chose my idea is so that I can produce it in compliance with all the current
restrictions. Horror is a good genre for filmmakers starting out and/or on a budget as well as those
working on their own as it is possible to build tension by not showing anything. You don’t have to
make a slasher horror, with a giant monster chasing the characters. You can, but you don’t have to.
This is why I wanted to try and create a horror, especially with all the current restrictions, but also
because I’ve never done it before and it seems like it will be fun.
