1. Normal distribution of data set is an extremely important concept because


numerous continuous variables common in business have distribution set that
closely resemble the normal distribution. It can also be used to approximate
various discrete probability distributions and provides the basis for classical
statistical inference because of its relationship to the central limit theorem.

2. Data sets are normally distributed when the mean, median, and mode are all
equal. Also, every normal distribution has a bell-shaped curve that is
symmetric about a vertical line through the mean of the distribution. In an
idealized normal distribution of a continuous random variable, the distribution
continues infinitely in both directions.
