Good Day, Sir.

Asistio

I apologize for the late submission of my assignment. I wasn’t able to make it on time due to a
lack of internet access. My parents sent me and my sister in our grandparent’s house for safety
purposes due to the spread of the Corona Virus. They don’t have wireless fidelity and the signal
in their place is weak except in the bathroom which gives the best reception.

Trust me Sir that I am doing the best I can to comply and finish the works you and other
professors have been given. I hope it’s not too late to accept my submissions and I’m hoping for
your kind consideration and understanding.

Thank you po

3. Gawad Urian (Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino or Filipino Film Critics)

The Gawad Urian Awards are annual film awards in the Philippines held since 1977. It is given
by the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino (MPP, "the Filipino Film Critics") and is currently
regarded as the counterpart of the United States' New York Film Critics Circle. The Gawad Urian
is one of the most prestigious film award-giving bodies in the Philippines. For the thirty years
that the MPP has existed, it has not been tainted with any accusations of vote buying or scandals
that tainted most of its counterparts in the Philippines. This distinction made the Gawad Urian a
highly coveted award in the Philippine film industry that is only given to the most deserved
winners. Also known for its infamous ties. At a time when the Filipino award-giving bodies were
adamant about awarding ties after the FAMAS rock-up in 1972, the Gawad Urian has given ties
in the Best Film category, Best Screenplay category, Best Actress category and Best Supporting
Actress category, a dozen ties all in all.

The Gawad Urian is known for awarding several lesser-known films produced by small
independent production companies. In 2004, Ebolusyon ng Isang Pamilyang Pilipino, a landmark
Filipino drama, was awarded Pinakamahusay na Pelikula (Best Film) by Gawad Urian, while it
did not receive a single nomination from any award-giving body that year.

Luna Awards (Film Academy of the Philippines)

The Luna Awards are awards given annually by the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP)
to recognize the outstanding achievements of the Filipino film industry.

For a film to eligible, it should be released and have a commercial run for at least three days
from January 1 to December 31 of the previous year. The voting process of Luna Awards
was formulated by the Academy with the help of Asian Institute of Management (AIM). It is
done by a three-body system composed of the citers, nominators and voters. A citer can also
be a voter but cannot be a nominator. The citers indicate whether a work should be cited or
not. The cited works move on the next round. Ten seats are allocated for each guild focused
on the professions of: Direction, Performance, Screenplay, Cinematography, Production
Design, Editing, Musical Score, Sound and Another ten seats are allocated for a non-category
guild, totaling to 90 seats.

In the second round, a nominator should be a previous nominee in any major film awards like
Luna, FAMAS, Urian and Metro Manila Film Festival. Five seats are assigned for each
profession, adding up to 40 seats. They would rank all cited works from best to worst, with
the two to five highest scorers becoming the nominees. To become a nominee in Best
Picture, a film should have three nominations and one of these nominations should be in Best
Direction or Best Screenplay.

The nominees would then move on the last round where voters would cast their votes. Fifteen
seats are designated per profession and another fifteen for a non-category guild, numbering
to 135 seats. The winners would then be announced in the awards night.
1. A. The Dekada 70 movie shows how a one family suffered and affects due to political and
economic problems. Is this a tragedy of a family or tragedy of a nation?

B. Their brother Jason died because he was suspected carrying marijuana and died without
justice. Is it still happening in today?

C. The movie is also about a story of a woman as a mother, wife and people of nation. In the
past century woman’s role is only to stay at home and be a mother, wife and housekeeper.
Woman should dedicate her life in household duties while men are the only one who can do
work. How this differ from our century today?

2. Our government seems that still no solution on how it will decrease the cases of the disease
but they are trying their best to find solution. We are not prepared for this kind of situation that
is why it is hard for our country. We are not capable to work on this unless other country will
support or teach us. A lot of patient already died and our society now is shouting for food, money
and support. If our country was prepared for this kind of situation or at least has a fund then
people now will not go insane. The problem is people in higher position don’t know how to
listen, and seems having a hard time to spend their money to support poor people. However, I
still believe that we will survive what we are facing right now if people in our country are hand
in hand helping each other. Our medical team must be acknowledge because they are trying their
best way to help and cure patient, non-stop of helping are what they are giving to us.

3. Is there risk that I no longer willing to take? Are there risks that I’m ready to take now? I
honestly don’t know. But for me life is not a life if we don’t take risk. I can’t risk it all but I
know that I risk a lot and we’ll continue to risk some. Because of the risk I had taken, I become
wiser, experience new things, learn and live a lot.

4. I was 18 when I started my Bucket List notebook. I leveled it as “My Generations Growing
Bucket List”. It’s growing because when I got a new idea I write it down as a new goal. I have a
lot of things that I want to experience and I know that I won’t achieve and experience all this
goals that’s why I make it “My generation” because like in the bucket list movie, I know I will
inspire someone and they will continue it for me. Still, my goal is to achieve plenty as I can. No
one knows how long will I live or when will I die so I want to spend my time on earth happily
and fulfilled. I like to balance time between with my family, relationship, studies and personal
well-being. I always believe in sacrifices, the more you get older time becomes shorter, 24 hours
a day is like a flash and a year is like just yesterday. I have to sacrifice some to gain something.
