My Idea:
A woman of the ages, an American story of a 99-year-old woman telling her story.
This factual program will explore different chapters into her life and how they link to
the history of America over the last century. From family life, between two world
wars, an economic depression, and 18 presidents. My Production will present a very
powerful story, it is original, it shows the greater interest of the celebration of
womanhood in the eyes of a wise women who has lived through a lot of history.
It is also a very recognised significant topic that many people today are intrigued by.
My intentions would be to inspire the audience through the way Myrtle has lived her
life as a strong woman in America with an interesting life story that links to significant
points in history. This will therefore be educational but presented in an engaging way
through key chapters staring from the 1920s following through to 2020.
The message of my production would be to highlight the appreciation of life, the role
of women has in society, showing recognition of reflection of 99-year-old women that
hopefully the audience can learn from. Social implications include
raising awareness of how women have contributed to American society.
This will be almost a visual biography of Myrtle going through: childhood,
womanhood, and adulthood. Each chapter will link to a key part in American history
for woman. I was to show a theme of feminism within my factual program. And it is
important that I show woman’s courage, contribution to America, lack of recognition
they did not get but also a celebration for what they have achieved.

Target Audience:
18 - 65+ This is because my topic is about women hood in America, it looks into
feminism and there can never be a specific age group when it comes to feminism. I
do understand that this topic maybe slightly complicated towards a younger age
group as I am also including historical aspects to my topic, therefore I am starting
from 18 onwards.
Although it is a significant celebration of women through the ages and time periods in
history. I am starting from the age of 18 onwards because I could also educate
younger people to be more informed on a subject that they may briefly know about.
And I feel that below the age of 18 I would have to think very carefully about a
different style of a factual program and the topic is probably not a huge interest for
young children.
