Project Two

Next up, we’re going to try our hand at some simple editing techniques on the Mac Books. The editing
program will eventually become more complex and elite, but the basics will remain the same. Your
group will still need to create a storyline, storyboard, and shoot the film; however, the assessment will
be based on various editing techniques that will need to be present in your final video. This time you will
use audio. The amount of adjustments that can be made on computer is immense. Nothing beats a good
shot from a video camera, but a good editor can make a good shot/story even better. First, you will need
to use a green screen shot in the video. The green screen serves as a backdrop for your shot, and then
through editing, any video or photo can be transferred to where the green screen is seen (So,
theoretically, we can have a scene on the moon, in a volcano, etc.). Secondly, you’ll need to add three or
more different transitions to your clips. These transitions bridge the gap between shots and smoothly
move from shot to shot on your storyboard. Next, you’ll need to add an audio track over the video track
to get two different audios occurring simultaneously. Additionally, you’ll need to add a filter to one or
more of your clips. Next, we need to look at using the ever-so-favorite slow motion technique. Let the
audience bask in the awe of seeing that action frame by frame. The last assessment requires you to add
a voiceover to the track. You will have a narrator that cannot be seen in the shot (think Morgan
Freeman) Lastly, add text to the beginning of the film (Title) and credits to the end.
