DEFINATION :

• System structure that transmit the load to the backbone via cable or membranes
.
• Designed to transfer tensile forces .

• Cable and thin membranes able to cope with stress only.

• Therefore, the materials used must be strong in tension .

NATURAL SURROUNDING :
LOAD TRANSFER :
Form cable define by :

1. The load supported by the cable

2. Tension.

Arch or cable structure

Arch or cable structure
which have a shallow

SIDE STABILITY :

1. Dead load on the system.

2. Add more membrane structure or cable ties.

BEAM

FORCE
SIDE STABILITY :

1. Dead load on the system.

2. Add more membrane structure or cable ties.

size of load

Cable are tied to the land

TYPES OF CABLE STRUCTURE:

SISTEM LENGKARAN TEGANGAN IKATAN SEKATA

SISTEM SELAPUT GANTUNGAN SISTEM IKATAN SELAPUT

SISTEM LENGKUNGAN KEMBAR

CASE STUDY : Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco
CASE STUDY : Municipal Auditorium
Constructed by Forsters and Partners, the tower is a tent-like,
cable net structure which majestically rises 150 meters from an
elliptical base to become the highest peak on the Astana skyline
