1.

I believe that college-level writing is a professional way of writing, its not like any other personal
writings such as personal emails, social media etc.

Therefore, my strategy would be to improve your written communication skills, I personally do a

research on how to improve my writings before any writing assignment.

For example, when I started my course with UoPeople university, I had to take an English course to
proceed with my learnings, so since then I started with UoP and until now, I always refer back to the LRC
(Learning Resources Center).

So, I highly recommend to enroll to LRC, and there you can find some of the major stages in a strong
writing process:

1- Thinking about your assignment

2- Developing ideas (often called prewriting)
3- Narrowing a topic
4- Gathering information
5- Ordering and drafting
6- Revising and editing

And, you will also find prewriting strategies and many ways to develop ideas for writing, including:

 Journaling
 Freewriting
 Brainstorming
 Mapping or diagramming
 Listing
 Outlining
 Asking defining questions
 Noting Pros & Cons
 Responding to a text

So, always practice and learn from your mistakes.

2. Well, the difference that writing a paper as explained on the above question will require to
apply some strategies and to follow the mechanics of writing and I believe writing a paper you
simply share with the readers what you believe or think, stating your position on a particular
subject matter.

while writing a discussion, unlike a traditional classroom setting where you get to have regular face-
to-face interactions with your instructors and classmates, in an online classroom, interactions
happen via discussion board assignment wherein students are required to write discussion posts to
put forth their thoughts and ideas and share it with the students and seeking for their own opinion
or believe back on return (Belin, 2019).
