Portable Workspace

The most inspiring space at the place I’m currently residing right now is my portable
workspace. I chose to have it inside the master’s bedroom which is the coolest and most
quiet area in the house.

When I occupy this space, I feel motivated and focused. It’s not about the specific
area inside the house but anywhere where I can place my laptop is my workspace. Every
object inside my workspace is very important to me as every single one of them is an
investment I made for my future. The colors that pop out are expressions of how I relate
to these objects. The gold laptop symbolizes that it is the most important piece in my
workspace and the pink calculator serves as a reminder to me that I can have fun even
when I’m doing my work.

The space also has a spiritual function in my life because when I am inside this
space, I am reminded about the good plans that God has for me which inspires me more
to be better in what I do.

I do my studies and manage the online shop I own with my friends when I am inside
this space. I can also relax here by entertaining myself through music, videos, and games
through my laptop and my phone. It is a place where I can really be productive.

I think a workspace is something common among Filipino households especially

during this pandemic where almost everyone does their work in the comforts of their
homes. It is now a need to have a personal space inside your home that has good lighting
where you can concentrate on your work.

My family has been moving around, renting apartments or living in homes of

relatives since I can remember. That being said, my portable workspace is special
because, for someone who doesn’t really have a permanent home, it is something I can
call mine.
